Well next time you're kind of joking, make sure to italize every other letter so everyone knows.

I'm kind of serious

I was going for an arbitrary percentage of sarcasm, so I may have to math a little.

I was kind of joking. Just making a reference, since "inconsistency" is tossed around a lot in the sports world and we hear it a lot from our coaches.

I agree. It's the usual reason for not playing the more talented kid.

Honest question - would Golden Tate have seen any time as a Frosh or Soph under Kelly? At some point you gotta give talent something to hang their hat on and contribute.

Yes, he would have. Tate was primarily used for go-routes as a frosh under Weis, much the same way Fuller and CBreezy were used as frosh under Kelly.

CRYSTAL BALL

I’ve got Boykin pegged for the 10 to 15 catch range, with outliers on either side being possible. The optimist in me sees the depth chart and his physical traits. The pessimist in me sees the other guys who have been given shots in front of him and the challenge of leaping someone like Jones or Robinson if he’s healthy and playing.

Ultimately, someone is going to step in and be a surprise at the position next year. We’ve assumed Torii Hunter Jr. will be the leading man. Kevin Stepherson was the freshman spring sensation. And Jones feels like the answer if Robinson isn’t going to be able to play after a series of concussions.

It’s easy to be a fan of Boykin if you watched him as a high schooler and saw his recruiting profile. Now it’ll be up to him to fight for a role at a position that’s one of the most unsettled on the roster.

I think we're gonna be good at W this year. EQ, Boykin and Claupool as a wildcard as size guys should be effective. I'm really excited to see how it shakes out.

Except during the game. I mean this in the nicest possible way. Can we start calling him "drop?" Miles seems to always get thrown a ball in the late 4th quarter but extremely rarely anything before that. Jury still out I guess.

I feel like he had a drop earlier in the game also.

Playing to tight just like the rest of the team...

Not sure why Claypool doesn't play over him. Been much more impressive imo

Wouldn't see the field again until either Claypool moves to OLB or it can be proven he's a beast blocking in a running package.

He's definitely shown the "yips" in game so far. In limited opportunities, he has a lot of drops.

No reason for him to be on the field again this year unless on special teams.

Since when was Derrick Mayes and Malcolm Johnson classmates? When Mayes was a senior when Johnson was a freshman. Nice edit job Scout.

Wow, the catch was amazing, but the run after the catch reminded me of Samardzija's catch at the end of that '06 UCLA game. Boykin just willed himself to score, throwing defenders out of the way and sprinting into the endzone for a heroic finish. Awesome!
