I never understood all year why Boykins was not used more. Especially in the red zone. Just throw the ball and let him get it.

Because it seemed like he got tackled before every pass got to him. So many missed dpi calls against this guy.

Wow, the catch was amazing, but the run after the catch reminded me of Samardzija's catch at the end of that '06 UCLA game. Boykin just willed himself to score, throwing defenders out of the way and sprinting into the endzone for a heroic finish. Awesome!

I thought it was a deja vu moment but couldn't place it.

Thanks!

Absolutely! I was just coming to post something similar!

Congratulations Miles! With that spectacular game winning play, you just entered Notre Dame lore. That play will be remembered for decades alongside Rocket's two kick return day versus Michigan, Zibby's punt return versus SC, and the goal line stand versus Stanford just to name a few.

Notre Dame, like the North, remembers.

Love that it ends with the stunned LSU fan who spits at the end.

Still mind blowing that he didn't get more reps this past season. I understand that he is not very explosive, but whenever there is 1 on 1 coverage I would just lob the ball in his direction. Think Stanford WR's.

Do we know who Kelly gave the game ball to?

Haven't seen it on twitter, but I hope it was Yoon. And if not Yoon, Book.

I don't want to depreciate Boykin's catch, but those two showed some serious stones in this game, and came through big.

From a political point of view giving Book the game ball I don't think would go over well with everyone in the locker room.

Yoon would be a good choice. Or how about giving to big Mike and Q...

This is a great memory for this young man and I am happy he is able to have this experience in a ND uniform.

But, it sure did take him a long time to run that last fifteen yards...

Lol this is amazing.

Lol this is amazing.

You mean it didn't feel like forever to you for the game winning touchdown to be scored? I was holding my breath the whole way waiting for someone from DBU to sneak up behind him and knock the ball out of his hands.

I know - jaded ND fan here...

Fortunately you survived that four whole seconds without oxygen.

If the CB had any timing or ups that play could have looked very different. I don't mind 50/50 balls at all, but not sure that pass will fly against some of our competition. Great body control and fight by Boykin.
