God I can't stand watching Hogan and that awful throwing motion. Please, please, please find a way to make him panic.

Anyone know the rushing record against ND? McCaffrey is going to break it.

Honest question. Has there been a single player all year BVG hasn't corralled for the most part? Single player meaning a teams top option.

I don't know what he did against Watson but I wouldn't call it corralling.

Yes yes I know we held them to under their season average in yards but when they weren't in clock-kill mode he was getting what he wanted.

Watson had a poor passing game but still threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. 89 yards rushing.

He only threw for 84 yards and statistically had his worst game of the season. I would say that we certainly bottled him up better than any team they've played so far.

I don't think 1 guy beats us. I think BVG will make the rest of the team beat us. And if our D line getting gets decent pressure, Hogan won't play well

Lke i said, I know statistically it wasn't a great game. But we gave him multiple short fields, Clemson didn't pass the ball in the second half at all, and it was in a hurricane. Every time Clemson needed something, he got it. I know I might be alone on this, but I felt as though Clemson could've gotten a lot more if they didn't decide to play risk free for the last 30 minutes.

Yeah, I respectfully disagree. We had four turnovers and shut Watson down starting about mid third quarter. They took advantage of the opportunities we gave them, but we bottled Watson up enough to win that game. Hell... We turned the ball over four times and went to tie it up on the last play.

He didn't burn us and we didn't shut him completely down. With a player that good, I consider that a win for BVG. We didn't lose because of our defense or any single player from Clemson.

Both teams will play a very different game should they get a rematch... well, so long as another monsoon doesn't hit...

Tony Dorsett with 303 has to be it. I don't think McCaffrey gets that close, maybe in total yards though.

He hasn't come within 50 yards of 303 total all year if I did my math right (I'm assuming you mean rushing + receiving).

That being said I think he will reach that lololol.

You guys are a bunch of Chicken Little's.

BVG is gonna figure out how to stop McCaffrey. The question is whether or not we can contain Hogan at the same time. It's gonna come down to Romeo, Sheldon, Isaac and Trumbetti playing sound and keeping their rush integrity. If they lose contain or don't generate pressure, Hogan will hurt us.

I think the coaching staff will draw up everything that this team needs to be successful, and I think the team will respond.

My first impression is that we lose. KVR injury is huge. If Daniel Cage isn't back I'd almost guarantee it.

I think the KVR injury is gigantic. He's been extremely good against the run, and better against the pass than most realize. The type of coverage him and Luke are asked to play is extremely difficult.

That injury -- to me -- almost guarantees a few more breakdowns this week than we're used to seeing. It means Stanford is going to make more plays in the passing game than they should be able to... which means picking up more first downs. It means they'll have an easier time running to the perimeter, which is where McCaffrey excels.

I just don't see how ND holds Stanford below 38 points or so. Can ND score 40+? We've done that 4 times, and only once on the road. So I'll say Notre Dame loses 38-31 on frustrating defensive breakdowns.

Idk. I was getting tired of seeing these no names having career days against KVR. And then at the end of the game KVR makes an INT so everyone forgets how god awful he was. Honestly, he's probably been the biggest bust this year.

Also, the defense did a pretty good job last year stopping the best RB in the country last year in the bowl game (minus a few runs) and that was with a shit ton of injuries on the defense. No reason why that can't do it Saturday against a kid that is smaller and slower

Agreed. He has all the measurables if someone can remind him that he should turn and look for the ball. All of his interceptions are because he had to close laterally or towards the line of scrimmage so he was forced to find the ball.

I think Max has a pretty big game. He can come up and put some big hits on CM. My only concern here is the trick play - again.

Stanford 38 ND 24. Great year for the Irish considering all the injuries but I don't see this defense being able to contain both McCaffrey and Hogan running the ball. I think Hogan runs for over a hundred this week unless Jaylon spies him.

Rise to the occasion boys. We can see greatness in the distance, but Stanford stands between us and a chance at it.

As a former D-Back, this has been the biggest frustration I've had with KVR (and to a degree a few others)...He needs to turn and find the ball when the reciever starts looking up. Drives me crazy (even watching the NFL sometimes) how many times ints don't happen that could with underthrown balls...and balls that are on the mark. Believe me that it's easier said than done. But it should happen more if you are considered "elite".

I feel the 3 key players to this game are:

1.Kizer- in addition to fixing all the mental errors from last week, Kizer must have a HUGE game running the ball. It is time to sell out and go for it...if we win we got a month to get healthy again.

2. Shumate- He has got to be the man to stop Mccaffrey. He cannot whif at all. BVG must gamble and take some chances with 8 in the box. We cannot have time of possession get out of hand again.

3. Fuller- this will be a close one and we need him to do his thing and have ZERO DROPS!!!

I think this is the first poll where we have had [serious] votes cast for each option.
