Do we still want him? Haven't followed recruiting as much lately, is he as good as advertised or is there better prospects to go after? Because every time I see stats on him, which is not very often I must say, they are not very good.

i personally don't...i like having a more mobile qb...he can move if he has to but its more of just escaping and getting rid of ball vs actually being a threat..

per loy--there is still communication w/ his family and ND

Just can't picture him wanting to come in and compete with DK and BW. And I'm not sure he seems himself as a big read-option guy. I still hope he flips to us but think that it might end up in a Gunner Keil situation.

I don't think his team is very good which could be a reason for this struggles.

100% agree. Kiel would not have worked in BKs system and this guy wont either.

People get ratings happy because of the stars but this isnt a fit

That makes sense. I agree with Panda that I wouldn't take him. The thing about QB's, I feel, is that a lot of the ones playing in really good HS programs do not play until their junior year. I think it is wise to wait for more films on more guys and maybe get a guy to commit during the offseason. I doubt we will struggle to get someone that fits our system, especially with the way this class is shaping up and the results that we are projecting for this season.

You're constantly talking out of your @ss.

Kiel runs a zone read in Cinci often and Butch Jones' offense is a mirror image of BK's in Tennessee.

Kizer seems to be and he's more of a pocket QB than a real dual threat QB.

You guys need to know that as high school football goes, HJ's team is not bad. They simply play against really good competition in a mega public school conference. Brownsburg would win the conference championship in the vast majority of conferences in the US. The Hoosier Crossroads is Indiana's #2 conference, which is 6A (2000+ students, some schools have between 4000-5000) and when the HCC plays out of conference or the playoffs, it's against MIC schools. This year it was Pike and Lawrence North this year. The MIC has been voted a top 5 conference over the past few years and the HCC held their own against the MIC this year.

I think the wording is wrong here. Kizer is the definition of dual threat. He can hurt you equally with both his arm and his legs. I agree with you that he's more of pocket guy than a running guy, but I think that is the way Kelly likes it. I'll tell you what, though, Kizer has all the tools to be really special in college and also at the next level. Imagine how good he will be once he is able to easily go through his progression and clean his footing a little. Scary good really.

Got a feeling this recruitment is going to get way dumber in the year to come.

Wonder if this all ends up heading the same direction as Kiel.

Clemson's really capitalizing on their success. Wish we could be sitting in their shoes right now, but we still have some pretty good momentum in our own right.

Plus, I don't get why people get worked up about kids flipping commitments when ND isn't involved. We poach a few critical pieces every year.

I don't think folks are worried or upset as much as they are having fun with it. Drama filled recruitments, much like this is turning into, have ways of bringing out some good jokes, memes, gifs, etc.
