Great pickup! Looking like a really nice class. Love havin an elite DE end early!
THIS is an elite pass rusher.
Wish he could re-classify to 2015

He reminds me a lot of Lorenzo Carter. Same high school and thought about coming to ND at one point. Both Rusty Mansell and Chris Nee say SUPER ATHLETIC. Keep hearing that with this kid and no doubt Gilmore can already coach up the D line and this kid will be a beast!! Hopefully Elston isn't coaching him at the linebacker spot.... but that's none of my biz
I feel like this may be that kid that has an Irish connection and we feel really good about early on but fail to land. Seems like there's at least one every cycle. Can't decide if it's Beal or Hunter Johnson...

Someone could at least had them put their leg pads in. His dudes look ridiculous lol.
One of these is different than the others!
Hail yes! He is a Golden Domer!
What a substantial bit of serendipity from the ether . . .
I will take it! Good luck Mr. Beal!
Any relation to Jennifer?
Had to ask.
Sláinte! Síochána! Agus Téigh Gaeilge!
According to Chad Simmons (Scout) Beal's grandmother lives in South Bend, he's visited ND three times and considers it his dream school. BVG was at his school last week.
Someone bring that woman some flowers.
Hell YES! This '17 class is shaping up to be epic!
This young man can flat go get the quarterback. He’s a double-team waiting to happen. A really good pass rusher with a good frame at 6-foot-4, 230-pounds that can bend. He can also run with a listed time in the 40-yard dash of 4.51 seconds.
Ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 3 weak-side defensive end and No. 70 prospect overall, Beal visited Notre Dame for Irish Invasion and thought about pulling the trigger back in the summer. Recruited by Scott Booker, Beal saw Irish defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder at his game two weeks ago. Other offers included Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Ohio State.
Early in the 2017 cycle, Notre Dame is sitting on the nation’s No. 5 recruiting class per the 247Sports Rankings with several more highly-ranked prospects already thinking strongly about ND. As the Irish’s strong 2015 season continues, it will continue to add to the buzz the Irish have with current high school juniors.

Norcross coach Keith Maloof isn’t one for hyperbole. He’s not in the business of putting young men on platforms they do not deserve or cannot attain.
That’s why when he says his junior defensive end Robert Beal can be every bit as good or better than UGA star Lorenzo Carter, he means it.
“I’ve said it a few times,” Maloof told the AJC. “Robert can be every bit as good and probably even a lot better than Lorenzo Carter.”
Maloof has now coached both blue-chip prospects at Norcross. He thinks Beal will eventually hold more weight than Carter. He pointed out that Beal had a size-17 shoe when he was in the seventh grade.
Maloof already believes Beal is every bit as good or better than Carter was at this stage of their prep careers.
“He’s already got like four or five sacks this year,” Maloof said. “He caused two fumbles and recovered two fumbles. He had a great game against Valdosta last week and had two sacks.”
When his phone rings, his message to any college coach in the country who wants to know about him is simple.
“He’s a great kid with good grades and a good student and he’ll be just like Lorenzo,” Maloof said. “That’s about all I need to say, I think.”
Beal was out sick on Tuesday at practice, but told the AJC late last month he was high on UGA, FSU and Notre Dame, but was considering all programs. He’s been rated as the No. 3 defensive end in the country for 2017 by the 247sports composite.
His Norcross teammate Jarett Cole ranks him even higher than that.
“Robert Beal is definitely the number one defensive end in the state,” said Cole, who is committed to Georgia Tech.
“He might be the best defensive end right now among the 2017 kids in the country. He might be the best defensive end in the country right now among the 2016 or the 2017 players. … Him and Lorenzo Carter are like the same. Which is crazy.”
Cole said Beal’s motor to go up and down the field play after play stands out. Then he’s stronger than he looks.
“Then take a look at his wingspan,” Cole said. “His wingspan is like from here to Afghanistan his arms are so long.”
I wanted Lorenzo Carter in that class SO BAD...
Speaking of Lorenzo Carter, I remember this:
Which college disappointed you the most? “Notre Dame was pretty good. I liked them. The assistant coach stayed on me, but I never really got a chance to connect to the head coach (Brian Kelly). Or really (Jimbo Fisher) from Florida State. But if I had built a good relationship with Coach Kelly, I would’ve considered Notre Dame more because it’s a great school for engineering and that’s what I want to major in.” -
“His wingspan is like from here to Afghanistan his arms are so long.”
A DE class of Robert Beal, AJ Epenesa, and Josh Kaindoh. Dear God.
