So.....he's coming to ND?
i think in future i might post early in a recruits thread with a "reserved for highlights" post and then add in any footage that comes along. this might be the best thing to do
I just wonder, where should it stop?
If we aren't going to bump a recruit's profile for a new post with highlights, should we also avoid bumping a recruit's thread for ANYTHING that isn't good news for ND?
I think you're making a giant leap to conclusions there. Nobody has said to limit it to good news at all (least of all me...I'd much rather know than not know.) However, I personally just would like it to be any news in regards to our recruitment of said recruit. For example, I know this recruit had pretty much dropped ND (or the other way around), so when I saw his thread bumped, I was hoping we were back in it even though I was expecting more bad news with him. But a highlight tape was kinda disappointing.
But seriously, no big deal. I was just letting autry know that it wasn't just him that felt way. Nothing to get worked up over or for mods to take action on IMHO…just something to discuss. Peace.
he is still talking w/ schools...ND hasn't been communicating w/ him
Scout: ND is trying to get him to visit
really? guess things change quickly as we weren't communicating
Ken Kareem, the father of Farmington Hills Harrison defensive end Khalid Kareem, an Alabama commit, confirmed to Scout that his son will be at Michigan State for their clash with Oregon on Saturday night.
However, he reiterated that the game is nothing more than a chance to see one of college football's top matchups.
"Michigan State is really not even an option for us," Kareem said. "That's not because of us or because of them, the numbers are what they are. They have four defensive linemen committed already and Coach Dantonio explained that to my son and let him know that four is what they are taking and he can't change that.
"We're going because it's going to be a good game and we want to take in the game. Khalid is committed to Alabama."
Kareem has his official visit scheduled to Alabama for next weekend.
While other schools have continued to contact and try to recruit Kareem, he says Michigan State and Alabama are the only two visits that are currently set.

Get him on campus... get them all on campus.
This is ND we're talking about. Team 127. This team ain't gotta make no excuses. Quit trying to sneak in the back door on lesser recruits. Kick in the front doors of the top targets. ND's better than the other schools, ND's history's better than their's.
THIS team doesn't take a back seat anymore. OSU might be driving right now but the Irish are ridin' shotgun.
Or at least that's what Pate Forde told me...
There's a difference between getting top recruits, even committed ones, to campus. Versus paying for a kid to come to a marquee game when he is telling everyone that there is "zero interest" and that he's "only there for a free trip to watch some football".
I don't see how wasting our resources on that type of visit ever makes sense. If they aren't even willing to avoid publicly abusing the good faith of a school, then why bother?
In that situation he is saying that about MSU isn't he? He then follows it up with they don't even have room for me. So if he came to a game at ND, the situation could be conceivably different, as we do have room. I think its just him saving face since they don't have room.
My comments were referring to if he wanted to visit ND. The OP of today referred to him possibly visiting us. What I was trying to say, was if he made comments like that about visiting Notre Dame, then I wouldn't even want him coming.
I suppose with MSU, if they aren't even offering him a spot, but want him to visit as a possible contingency down the line... then whatevs....
I'm confused, can't click the link. Isn't he visiting Alabama this weekend? If he's already a Bama commit, why the flip talk if he's visiting them? Or is he visiting elsewhere?
Alabama commit Khalid Kareem will take an official to Notre Dame his father said.
The USC game is likely but not definite
