You know, I am as interested in this as anyone, and I get upset with what looks like foolish decisions and immature consideration by recruits, too, but this ^^^ is true.
Proof: I sent tweet, not long ago, about a recruit -- very positive, very supportive -- not to the recruit, not to the recruit's family, just a general tweet re ND football about this recruit and something he did, and the next thing I know the recruit's mother is favoriting the tweet and following me. I say this only to emphasize that people do scout when it comes to their kids and families and friends, so hostile comments can definitely be forwarded, although who knows if it has a serious effect.
Of course none of this is meant to understate the generally silliness of which we are capable around here.
