I disagree. I've played and coached, and bulletin board material has worked in both instances, even in rivalry games where you're already ready to go to war.
I remember playing in a big rivalry game, and everyone was pumped, and before the game one of the other players was talking all kinds of shit to me. As amped up as I was for a HUGE game (relatively speaking), that somehow got me to another level. And I remember coaching in a rivalry game, and our rivals had kinda run up the score late on us the previous year, and let us know about it after the game as well. So the next year, we were pumped for the game like always, and it was for the league title, but my team had that extra juice all week long because I was able to remind them about the bulletin board material the other team had given us.
So for me anyway, I love having bulletin board material. A hyped practice can get even more hyped, and your players can get even more done because of the extra juice flowing through their veins. JMHO.
