They will wear down our D and have some success running but I think their ability to score at will depends on the success of throwing the play action. This won't be Alabama just running through us.

Kelly has NO excuses offensively. I don't want to hear about how good LSUs defense is. It's time to put this thing together.

You have two capable QBs with running ability and rocket arms. Folston/Bryant. Oh what's that coach? Greg isn't ready to block?? He needs to learn the playbook more? He's not quite ready to take a full load?

Then F-UCKING GET HIM READY!!!

Urban Meyer is on his third string QB... In the playoffs.

Our O-Line roster was recruited by almost everyone. This crew should be way more dominant.

Fuller, Prosise, Carlisle, Robinson, Koyack, Folston and Bryant is enough play making ability if you can just field a competent QB.. Ahem. Kelly.

LSU may take advantage of our depleted D but our offense has a real chance to make a statement here. Kelly has the opportunity and time to devise, implement and execute his game against a top tier defense.

To me, this offensive showing will tell me all I need to know about Kelly. Do we see a sloppy, mistake prodden, confused, game clock running offense? Or the confident, energetic, cohesive brand of football we've been waiting for.

If he can't get this offense going now what makes anyone think he's ever going to?

This is what I posted a few days ago. I really wanted to see Kelly have this offense prepared, confident and ready to rumble. I knew the D would play out of their skin but have a tough time stopping the run.

I have to say, Brian Kelly almost flawlessly called this game. These guys were more than ready to fight, the O-Line protected and opened lanes, the QBs played to their strengths and Tarean continued to be the most reliable back we have.

Great job on all accounts scoring 31 on the SECs best.

BK, you're my guy.

Congratulations guys! I know this must be a phenomenal feeling. Your guys showed up today with a great game plan, played physical hard-nosed football, and executed better than any other game all season. Well-deserved win!

Support the guys on the field, in the good times and bad. Great finish for Brindza after the struggles with holding all season, great statement for him to win the game.

Today was the type of game and toughness we needed to compete with the soon to be Harbaugh teams and OSU on the recruiting trail. I want toughness and nastiness like we saw today.

Exactly! I love this brand of football. This was more that power type spread today. Let those big bastards up front drive block and mash people. Hopefully our young D-line can generate some push next year. I'm so happy for this team, they've showed offensive flashes and really played well today.

1. This is what can happen when you lean on the big boys up front. They've been itching to do this all season.
2. Our recruits now have proof that we have the size, skills and speed to play with the SEC.
3. Loved Golson's excitement after the kick. He had his issues this year, but he persevered like he did when he was dismissed from school.
4. Malik isn't scared of anyone or the situation. Loved his emotion after the game.
5. Can't put a price on the value of the experience the youngsters gained this season.
6. Glad to see Bindza finish his career the right way.
7. This game showed us Kelly never really lost this team.
8. This team has a lot of heart and pride.

GO IRISH!

Watching from the stands, the Irish looked so damn good on offense. There were a couple of plays where Zaire should have kept the ball and some where he should of handed the ball off. Very much expected from a Freshman. I am excited to see what brings next year with the QB battle!!!

Still don't understand the SEC chant when LSU scored...... felt like chanting In-de-pen-dent!!!
LOL

Go Irish!!

Day and Cage back in the lineup are huge positives for this point especially. If they are anywhere close to 100% I start to like our chances.

I think the Zaire comments are spot on, young team wants a chance to play for the future. Zaire is a quality QB prospect with two full seasons in our system. He knows he can win the starting job with a solid performance so if he is a gamer, he will be bringing it. Motivating the troops is only part of the job, if he can sling it today we have a lot to look forward to.

Zaire played an outstanding game considering the atmosphere and competition.

Irish 30
LSU 27

Zaire establishes himself as a heisman dark horse next year going for 250+ and 3 TDs.

Close and let's not jinx Zaire too early.....

DEFER ONCE KELLY YOU ASS.

Aren't you glad now he didn't defer.....

see above.....

Timeout? Are you kidding me?

What else did you expect?????

Miles walking around like he doesn't know where he is. lol

The conversation I had with almost every LSU fan there was hoping he would have left to go to Mishitgan....

Go Irish!!!

Love this guy he is going to be good. I wish he would have played the whole year. Nothing against Lombard but he was awful this year.

I think Zaire starting next year will negate Kelly's tendency to throw the ball 45 times a game bc of his inexperience and ability to run the read option. If Zaire starts and throws less then 20-25 passes a game well be in good shape. Adopt Meyers version of the spread

^I second this post. I can honestly say that Les Miles & Cam Cameron were outcoached by Brian Kelly & Brian VanGorder. Well done gentlemen.

I need a great recipe for crow. Thought we would get beat by 40....

1) Obtain crow
2) Pluck yourself
3) Apply sea salt to wounds
4) Marinate in sweet and sour sauce
5) Spit roast over slow heat for 3 hours
6) Roast your ass at 700 degrees F (371 C) for 10 minutes
7) Flambée your brain with the alcohol of your choice
8) Smile

He should have learned the same lesson ND learned against FSU. Don't let the game be so close that it can be decided by a referee's call. Shame on LSU for not being able to get in the endzone in definitive fashion. Karma is a bitch. ND got some well deserved payback when it came to questionable ref calls. As far as changing the outcome, I was impressed to see even an LSU fan call BS on that notion on the NBC Sports msg board. Some Alabama honk was crying about LSU getting jobbed. Then a classy LSU fan posted that she was full of crap b/c had the call been overruled & LSU got the score, there's nothing to guarantee that ND wouldn't have scored a TD on their final drive vs setting up for the GW FG.

I loved the part where Folston and Zaire were talking about Folston's TD run.

Folston says to Zaire, "I just needed you to get in his way. I was gonna run his ass over anyway..."

Lol!

Epic.
