Actually I'd say it's very fair. Notre Dame is a private institution. If Brent didn't want to deal with this there are plenty of non-religious based colleges he could've attended. It's inconvenient to his wants, but it's not unfair.

Were this a known quantity/predilection before admission, I'm pretty damn sure he wouldn't be a student at ND now.

Consorting with a pornster, in and of itself, is not necessarily a death knell. Broadcasting said behavior may well be. If Mom and Dad puff up their chests and declare "That's Our Boy" it could become a matter of the university taking the helm and correcting a misguided course.

I had the benefit of attending ND at its most liberal, when its choice was to turn a relative blind eye to weed and alcohol. I kinda fucking doubt that this behavior would have passed even the most lax muster.

whether that would be right or wrong is immaterial to the fact the simply appearing to have spent the night with a porn star is bad PR for ND. As others have pointed out, ND sells itself to parents and kids as being different. Things like this are just more ammo to prove ND isn't.

If I were a parent (and an image-concerned ND administrator), I'd be much more concerned about the rumors of a sex for papers scandal. Especially since ND has declined to formally release the results of their lengthy internal investigation.

I would agree with you if it were just "being in the presence of an adult actress." Isn't there a clear inference that he was having sex with an adult actress, based on the picture of the two of them in bed? I may have missed something; haven't been on the board that much today. But that would be the issue.
