I'm not saying I would act differently if he was commited to ND. I just don't understand all the grief this kid takes. Ever since he found a new home at michigan he's been pretty quiet. Sure he should have kept his mouth shut when it first started. I'm not saying I support how the kid acted but I think the bashing he takes is a little ridiculous.

Btw he's committed to two schools. Like a lot of prospects do.

And searching for a third I'd wager. Maybe a fourth or fifth when all is said and done,

Good point GBdomer...look at Gunner Kiel, he was first committed to IU, then LSU before he came to ND.

GBDomer, you don't think it's warranted for us to hope we pass on this kid? I didn't call him names or predict his outright failure as a human being, I simply see a poor correlation between success at ND and young men who are as self-absorbed as Chris Clark. He represents himself on Twitter in a poor fashion. That type of behavior works in many places but I don't believe it's a recipe for success at ND.

I'm also of the mindset to make it Alize or bust for '15.

I'm not a fan of Chris Clark but the fact he has been committed to more than 1 school is no big deal. A lot of ND's best players were once committed to other schools and a few even transferred to ND. I don't remember anyone talking trash about Redfield or Bryant when they decommitted and later committed to ND. And Redfield did it very late in the process.

I understand what you are saying and I am not saying I want him in a Notre Dame uniform next season. But looking at how some kids act in real life. You have to remember he is a teenager. If everybody was on twitter as a teenager do you wish you could take back some of the stuff you might have tweeted? This goes for everybody judging him.I still tweet dumb shit all the time. Doesn't mean I am a bad kid or make dumb decisions. We all do, I don't follow him on twitter so I can't comment on some of the stuff he tweets.

I am not standing up for Chris Clark or support how he acted in the past. But I do think some of the heat he takes is unnecessary. You can agree or disagree with that.

Curious about why now, when we seem(ed) to be making headway with Jones. We're probably only taking on TE at most this year, right? Now all of a sudden we're in on two of the best?

And, yeah, at this point I'm on Team Ali'ze as well.

I don't think I have ever been against him per se. His film was great and I would take him in a heartbeat football wise. I also think that Huerman is not going to see the field much and I could see taking Jones and Clark as we obviously will have some room for both. That being said, from this kids own behavior and statements that we are privy to leads me to believe there are big red flags as relates to being successful at ND. Sooo when we go from an awesome offer with legacies and mom in our court to OSU and PSU lead then commits to UNC out of blue with no more mention of us..... yeah well I am gonna LMAO when he decommits a shitty academic program and commits to another shitty academic program after saying he is gonna take the process slow and really look at things hard. Lol

GB.........As already mentioned, I think it has to do mostly with how he's conducted himself (Miley Cirus syndrome, look at me, hey look at me) and how that's not a good fit for ND.

I know it's only one game.....

But I didn't like those highlights. He looks good as a pass-catcher, but I was a bit turned off by his lack of effort in run blocking. He had two or three good run blocking highlights in the film, but the problem is that he made his block and then just stood around. Didn't see any effort to get to his ball carriers and try to help out with a second block.

At one point he planted his man in the ground, got up, and then just stood there flat footed while three guys swarmed the ball carrier right next to him, including the guy he had just been blocking.

Talent is great, but you've gotta give effort, even when you're playing a small school and dominating the man across from you.

I know Brunswick school. Chris's competition in this game is the poorest of the poorest. He probably plays the poorest competition of any high level recruit.

I grew up in Connecticut. His competition is awful. This kid would be a pass for me. Obviously the staff knows what they're doing in pursuing him so I concede to them.

I would take Alize or nothing in this class.

Why?

I hate Michigan just as much as the next person but Michigan on the down fall isn't a positive thing IMO. It draws the attention away from the Midwest schools if there aren't enough Big Time programs in the area then all the top recruits head South. JMO.

screw michigan, their downfall is our win in terms of recruiting. There is still MSU and OSU to keep the big ten up

We just offered Kinnel. The only people we even have shown interest in are Roseboro (he didn't return any of that interest I don't think) and Clark. I'd be surprised if either of those two ended up at Michigan at this point.

We had some interest in Taylor but didn't offer and now he tore his ACL. Brian Cole is a guy we might be more interested in now that we're looking to take another safety. Passed on Weber and Kirkland and their others.

No doubt this trend should continue to help us with Bilal though.
