Hope he does well. Rooting for the up and coming SEC tams like Kentucky and Ole Miss. ND wasn't the school for him but he gave us an open mind and didn't string us along as a hat on the table.

ND recruited him quite hard, but his massive character issues and work ethic issues AND grade issues forced ND to finally stop recruiting him (it took way too long IMHO for the staff to move on from him, but they did). SO ND wasn't even an option for him.

Him ballooning in weight should not be a surprise to anyone who followed his recruitment.

Who is bigger? Elam or the 398lb Mama?

I like ND's DTs better than Holley and Elam to be honest. Cage is a fine player thats more quicker, stronger than Holley. Holley is probably a tad more athletic. Mokwuah is somewhat like Elam and is a space eater without the drama.

Usually I would say something like this is a blinding homer post, but I agree - Elam is a hot mess IMO and as for Holley, I have a hard time putting any legit stock in "elite" footballers from NY state.

Of the names mentioned Cage is the most ready right now which I like. I think Holley has more upside, if he's dedicated. With that said I've really liked some of the things that Cage has said and he has a no bust thing about him. Will at the very least (barring injuries) be a contributor for a few years. Good physical makeup, high motor, and good drive/work ethic. I was very happy with the DT haul we got last year. Cage, Hayes, and Mokwuah compliment each other very well.

Looks like he's hiding a hundred pound McRib patty up under that jersey.

Was reported through the UK channels that he had lost 37 lbs. Don't know where... but that's what was reported. He was also getting some positive comments from practice. Hope he makes it... but I still stand on my initial thoughts that both Bama and the Irish dodged a bullet not getting him.

Kid got an opportunity to change his life. At this rate, if he gives up on football or doesn't work hard, he may not see 35. I hope he makes it and is successful simply for his health!

Yo! Matt Elam's so fat... When he sits on the Couch, a former Wildcat QB dies.

I guess that I see things differently: Elam looked to me like he was in a pretty good position to take off just a little more weight to, as Kelly says, "get his work rate up", and he'll be just fine as some sort of supermonster for that team. If he gets stopped from doing that, it'll be his head that stops him, not his waist, in my opinion.

It does look like he lost some weight. I'm with T-Town, hope he makes it, he took the path less traveled and decided to try and be the hometown hero...but if I had to guess ND and 'Bama dodged the bullet.
