This is why its always silly to compare the FINAL star rankings from previous classes to the mid-year star rankings of the current class.

No way he doesn't climb with a 4.3!

EDIT: Now the Golden Tate comparisons are becoming more and more realistic.

Josh Sweat unfortunately just passed CJ with a 140.01 - but hard for a 6'5, 240 kid that runs 4.46 not to win lol.

That's... absurd. I don't know much about Sparq combines. Does Nike only do these at the Opening, or will there be other events where kids can perform for a rating? For example, will Boykin get the opportunity at some point at one of the all-star games in January?

He put up a solid 115.29 at a Chicago event. He ran 4.51 at 6-3.5

FYI for everyone, these are all preliminary scores. The top scoring guys from this afternoon will compete for the actual Championship tonight live on ESPNU at 8pm EST.

CJ should absolutely be taking part, so for anyone interested in seeing him compete live they should tune in.

Wow, congrats CJ. Thats pretty unreal. Also, he has a solid build to him for being short. Will be able to do some work as an APB at some point.

He's probably better than Clowney when he was a senior in high school, at least on paper

From a physical standpoint maybe but Clowney was actually a really adept pass rusher, if I remember correctly. From what I've seen Sweat is pretty raw from a skill perspective.

Really bummed we never got KJ Hill to campus. That was your boy Ironman. You need to get a bag man out to Oregon quickly.

I'm 100% seriously concerned about what would happen if USC or UCLA got in the race in earnest if CJ blows up. I'm hopeful that doesn't happen.

Well that's because you hate recruiting Cali kids.

I understand why you would feel that way and nothing is a given in recruiting anymore. I feel like CJ's situation is different and the appeal of IN may be just what he is looking for. He has been famous since he was little and if he can make it in football, what better stage to do it than at ND? Just my two cents.

I like your thinking, but there's a big flip side to that using your same points about him being a minor celeb that USC could easily make a play on.

I'm not worried about him though.

So. Carolina.

247 shows a University of Southern California offer.

Also, shouldn't we be less worried about teams he already has offers to (and hasn't been interested) and more worried about Ohio St... a team that hasn't offered and also the school his father played ball at?
