Sanders was basically everything BK had been looking for when recruiting jitterbug slot receivers, and it STILL didn't pan out.

I appreciate everything he did for ND while he was here, but I wonder how his career might have played out had he chosen a true spread offense, or an air raid offense, rather than coming to ND.

Checked up on CJ and I guess he was a starter for SMU for the first two games. Only caught one in the first game and injured his ankle in the second. Saw that he was ruled out for the third game against Michigan and I can't find anything about him or his injury since. He hasn't had any game action since the second game of the year.

Just spitballin', but I would guess it's a high ankle sprain. Those things can take a long time to heal properly.

I wish he'd have continued to improve on his Fr/So seasons but he didn't and he fell out favor with the staff.

Hope he bounces back this year for the Mustangs.

Was surprised last night watching the SMU game to hear his name returning kicks. He's got two rushes for 4 yards on the year. He is 18th in the country in kickoff returns, with 1 returned for a TD.

SMU had 7 guys catch passes last night, none for Sanders. So it wasn't just the lack of a spread offense that held CJ back.

I'm sad he never developed into the dynamic slot receiver I was hoping he'd be. Best ND return man in a long time, though.

He was definitely fun to watch. Very dynamic ball carrier, just goes to show how hard it is to achieve consistency and learn all the aspects of the position you must play.
