We'll get a qb because golson will light it up and our offense will look great, but it won't be anyone nearly as talented as Blake.

Travis Waller, Servite HS - same as Niklas and fellow target St. Brown, would be a must IMO. His favorites are Oregon (no offer), OSU (no offer), Bama (non-commitable offer), and USC (Already has 2 QBs committed). He's pretty much a backup plan for every major team.

I did some looking into him a couple hours ago. He performed nicely out west recently and Biggins said he looked really good but no offers, that he wants, came through. If Blake does leave ND may have a shot. He does have Stanford, Cal and NW looking at him so his grades must be decent to start with as well.

So from what I can gather, he is still visiting this month. If he flips to Oregon and shuts the door completely, then I won't wish him well. I always say, committing to Notre Dame is NEVER a mistake. If you choose to decommit, you damn well better have a good reason to. From what I gathered, that isn't the case. And to the little shit Hopkins, I hope Kelly shoves his loafers so far up his ass that he tastes nothing but leather and foot powder for the next six weeks. Unacceptable behavior for a supposed "professional" and definitely should be a recruiting violation. Fortunately, his parents will probably get his head on straight. There is no way they let him go to Oregon to chase a BS Communications degree. On a final note, what purpose does it serve to regret making a decision after SIX MONTHS, then after only a day or two, make that decision AGAIN!? Blake better check himself, because he's bound to make a giant mistake.

Now if he does visit Notre Dame and still feels Oregon is the place, I'll still be sour, but I will wish him well, because at least he gave ND a chance to speak their peace and lay it all out there.

Dawg if I drank the Kool-Aid you drink I wouldn't even bother studying for the Bar this summer. I'd say fuck it because I'd think I knew all the material.

But he has a Notre Dame golf bag... Shit, I thought he was as solid as they come. I'm trying to tell myself that it's ok and we don't need but I'm not fooling myself.

What bothers me the most is how he seemed to be a solid ND man who was sold and could sell others on what ND offered on both the football field and the classroom.

Reminds me of Hood in that regard. Which of course didn't end well for us.

I can respect you wanting to make the right decision and visiting schools to make sure. But don't make it sound like you couldn't be any more committed to ND in recent articles. Just say your gonna look at Oregon. It's gonna come out anyways

Who throws to the receivers at II that the staff will be evaluating if Barnett bolts?

But guys. Are the ND cards still covering 75% of his room?

'Bout time we got some Notre Freakin Dame positivity up in this bitch. This school and this football program whip ass and if some 17 yr old kid isn't down with that, he can move right along.

We may have found our new secret recruiting weapon. Tweet is from Blake's Mom

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Now I'm really loving ❤️❤️ Notre Dame <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23jonbonjovi&src=hash">#jonbonjovi</a> @ Notre Dame Stadium <a href="http://t.co/MPerFV9TcV">http://t.co/MPerFV9TcV</a></p>— Gina Harris (@G_harris1128) <a href="https://twitter.com/G_harris1128/statuses/391751184291463168">October 20, 2013</a></blockquote>

I think it's time to get Jon Bon Jovi on the line again.

Very very recently. It's frustrating that the ND fanbase placed this kid the future face of the program and he ate it up just to, more than likely, throw it in our faces.

In addition to the room plastered with ND paraphernalia, didn't his high school team put in some versions of a few of Notre Dame's plays?

But he has a Notre Dame golf bag... Shit, I thought he was as solid as they come. I'm trying to tell myself that it's ok and we don't need but I'm not fooling myself.

Recruits that tweet when other schools offer are VERY rarely solid. I've never been sold on his solidity since then, and I've talked to a couple people very much in the know who we're convinced of how solid he was.

Nobody has been more pumped about Barnett than I have...I've told everyone I've talked to that we have the next best thing coming next year. But days like this are why I'm so glad recruiting doesn't bother me anymore. This stings a bit, but really, I'm like 'meh', cause this shit happens all the time. Tee Shepard was the last straw. I quit caring right then and there, and life is soooooo much better because of it.

So while my friends are flipping the fuck out, life goes on. It'll hurt in a couple of years LIKE HELL, but today? Oh well.

Still want to see how this plays out at home though. Not giving up quite yet.

Besides, he's not going anywhere.

the way i see it, and at the same time i see where everyone is coming from, i have hard time getting too worked up over a decommitment from a kid that probably wouldn't see a snap until 2017

Maybe Barnett is a total flake, but it seems unlikely he'd flip quick after six months without his parents even visiting Oregon. As others have said, if this plays out long enough to get him back to campus, I'd still like our chances (and I read his "no more visits" comment as meaning he's down to ND and Oregon, not no more visits to ND or Oregon).

But aren't we kind of use to stuff like this? I just got a weird feeling he sticks. I really hope he doesn't take this out for a while
