I may be wrong but I was under the impression LA got most of his info from USC Rivals or ISD

He gets some info from personal relationships though. True, some of those relationships are related to paysite subscriptions ... I believe he personally knows some of the ISD reporters, for instance. But I think that sort of thing should qualify someone for this award anyway ... it's clearly a step above passively receiving paysite info.

Similarly, Lax has actively developed relationships with paysite personnel and gets additional information that way. I think he too deserves insider credit for taking that initiative.

NDinFL should make the list due to his connections to Gene from Warchant

LA goes to the ISD lunches, so meets with personal at ND along with Mike Frank when they can attend. He obviously also personally attends a good amount of practices / events at ND.

He definitely brought the goods in 2013, but consider this: TP is LAX's source. #Inception

TP is a source for a lot of us. haha

I'm honored to be mentioned in this thread, but truly, I get my info secondhand like many others. I also just use my intuition as I have zero subscriptions.

Reporter and Insider are much different

Turning Point is really the only answer because he has sources.

Damefan is a very close second. I mean when is he ever wrong plus remember Greg Bryant is transferring and it's 95% of happening.

STL, Lax and IM8 bring it as far as reporters go.

you better check yourself

She told me she wanted to step away from the zero and get with the hero.

I'm sorry, bro, it's over. Y'all shared a couple tweets, it felt like love, but it's all a distant memory now.

You'll find somebody else.

Oh yeah, she also asked me to ask you to stop sneaking into her house and stealing her panties from her panty drawer when she's at work. If you could keep walking her dog, cutting her grass, shoveling her driveway, cleaning her gutters, raking her leaves, buying her groceries, cleaning the cat litter, and expressing the dog's anal glands, well that would be great.

Seriously, LAX does have some great knowledge and brings a lot to the table. He does have some great sources and understands a lot of what happens in the media with some of the connections he has built. Def deserving.

NDinLA - Def deserves to win too. Guy has some great connections and gets great info and puts it in a way he can share. Great to have him on IE.

JimmyMac- Obviously has the campus connection, minus now that he is overseas. But he sees and hears things in real time so he brings a lot the table for the IE crowd too.

Cant go wrong with any of these 3 guys!

Yeah, definitely get a ton of info from USC Rivals and ISD.

But it's also been just moving into town. Through the ISD tailgates I know the mods there, and have become friends with a couple of them. And they are really candid at tailgates and those ISD lunches/live Power Hours, as long as you don't go blabbing everything online. A couple of times after the Power Hours, everyone bounces, and since it's the summer and I'm off, I've sat around and hung out with just Mele, Stires and Mike Frank, and the stories/info those guys have are tremendous (ex: a couple of weeks ago, they called Riggs and told them that it was basically a done deal that he'd be Irish. This was the night before the ISD lunch, and it was the first I had even heard his name mentioned).

Also, the two barbers I go to cut a lot of the players' hair and most of the coaches, so they have all kinds of stories as well (got to see and/or meet Lou Holtz, Manti, Tuitt, Calabrese, Brey and quite a few others there). And my wife works at ND so we meet people with some info as well, and I get to watch a practice or two not open to the general public (I saw an hour of practice the week of the Pitt game...the attention to detail in the passing game, and the utter (basically) disregard of the running game that day was pretty jarring, and made the result of the game more understandable).

Unfortunately, most of the stuff the ISD guys I can't post online, but sometimes I can (like now that it's out, you guys have no idea what an AWFUL recruiter Diaco was his last year. As in, He. Simply. Did. Not. Care.). The rest of the info I pass along to any poster who bought me a beer last year (TP made fun of the beer I was drinking, but it's aiiiight) and a few mods.

As far as the USC stuff, I still know a few coaches down there in SoCal, and my friend works for Pat Haden, as long as having a few friends that are alums who have some nice info.

Anyway, in reality, this should just be called the "TP Insider of the Year Award." He truly talks to players, families, coaches, etc. I have no true 'sources'. I just happen to be lucky enough to have met some people who know some stuff. But TP is the true insider (Lax knows some people as well).

EDIT: Little-known fact, "Irish Intel" was partly my idea (not-so-humble brag). Their "Recruiting Notebook" was pretty good, but it was on Saturdays, had a boring-as-hell name, and didn't give any insider stuff on the team that I know Mike always has. So I emailed Christian and Mike with some ideas on how to make it better. Turns out they had been talking about it, but my email really got the ball rolling. Christian was kind enough to include me in all the decisions they were making, about the title and the day they'd release it and stuff like that. About the only cool ND-related thing I've ever done lol...

Definitely. Much respect for those guys.

I would also include Luckylucci.

His contributions are great.

The collective amount of timely and relevant info (insider and reported) all you IE guys get/bring to the table on "all things ND football" is outstanding...and truly appreciated.

great to have a single "go to" source.

Agree with this being named the TP Insider of the Year. No one is going to beat him and his sources. Ever. I have seen them first hand. Just assume he'd win every year. I'll vote NDinLA cause of his improving connections on campus.

Jimmy wins no awards until he runs nekid.

Yeah, TP could definitely win every year. He's our truest insider. But it's nice to spread the love around from year to year.

I feel the same way about some of the other awards. For instance, IM8 is obviously our best reporter. He has subscriptions to all of ISD, BGI and II, he's good about getting stuff reported by paysites up on the site promptly, and he makes recruiting profiles. But he won last year, so ...

I would bet TP talks to more coaches/players on a regular basis than everyone else on this board combined. If he's eligible, I don't really know how you justify voting for someone else. Maybe a tenth of the info he has actually gets passed down to the board. NDinLA has also shared some truly great info this year via the sources he listed. Similarly, there is a lot of his info that is probably unappreciated because it isn't shared on blast.

People are probably overstating how much "insider" information I provide. True, there is some of it that comes from sources that others don't have, but it's a small minority. I think a lot of my posts I'm getting credit for are basically just a consolidation of information from premium sites... and/or other people on Irish boards (TP, etc.)

So in summation, it's this battle:

Rack Em and all the super awesome info in the '15 MO TE Hale Hentges thread
vs.
TP and everything else he brings

Pretty cut and dry fellas. Vote Rack Em and all your dreams will come true.

Gun to your head, Rack Em, who would you take-- Hale Hentges or Scott Stapp?
