My critical comment was about the irony of why he dropped ND from consideration, considering his coach getting a DUI and him getting in trouble. Like I said, I'm not trying to pile on, just pointing out irony. I never root for players to experience trouble, no matter what team they play for.

Only critical comments I have seen have been towards his family's decision to bash Kelly.

I guess I'm glad we didn't end up getting this guy. Things like this makes you think what it going on in these players heads. As if there any different or more special then the next guy that gets drug tested.

i have said it a million times...you and any ND fan think that none of our players are smoking weed are delusional!!! they are doing it not all of them but there is def a good handful of them...and yes i know for a fact!
Quick, someone write an article on BR about it.

LMAO...i wish these reporters would just go away!!!
That's a terrible idea.

he was kidding

Smoke weed eerday! Jk. Haha, I am definitely not against it in the least bit, but he was dumb to do it in season. For the typical college student paying for their own education its fine, but as a full ride D1 football player who is essentially owned by the school it was a dumb choice and one that reflects badly on the university. Wait till after the season, get out of the dorms(those places are hellholes for stoners), and buy a bunch of fake p!ss, haha.

I know at our school and some of my buddies schools the coaches straight up told you, "What you do in the off season is none of my business!"

Pretty simple. Stay clean from August-Dec (January depending what school you go to and how good your team is).

Considering Irish former and current players who were involved in similar incidents I don't see how we can make any critical comments on this issue.

Are you surprised?

Again, as was stated earlier, it's more about the contradiction of DGB and his family's negative comments about Kelly and then his subsequent criminal behavior (and the criminal behavior of his coach). I guess reading the posts in the thread is too much to ask.

Also I didn't see anyone saying Cierre, Utupo, Carlo, and Tommy didn't deserve to be punished.

He's a grown *** man. Four TD today, two of them were fantastic. Here is his third:

C'mon kid, get it together. Nothing worse than wasted talent.

He may be one of those kid glove star athletes... I feel bad for them, if they ever learn what some adult should have taught them years ago it's usually too late...

Very true. But I say it's worse when they have so many reasons to be successful beyond just having the talents. Like an adoptive family that's cared for you or a family member in bad health who needs you. There are so many reasons for anyone to be successful beyond their own personal gain. When you finally realize what you're working for, everything becomes a lot easier.

Is he being charged with a felony? The article didn't say.

If convicted of a felony, I believe he would be ineligible under NCAA rules.
