So in 2012 Riddick avg. 99 yds/game (rushing and rec.)
in 2013 for the 8 games Thomas played in he avg. 93/game.
Oregon undoubtedly has a great offense but to think that Kelly can't isolate guys and put them in positions to have a lot of success is just not accurate. When we have a singular player that deserves the touches Kelly does a fantastic job of getting them the ball in positions to be successful. Floyd, Eifert, Riddick, and TJ Jones this year. He had 11 total tds and almost 1200 yds of total offense. Excluding punts.
I don't think that you can compare Riddick and Thomas. They are two completely different style of players. Thomas would never have held up to the touches that Riddick got. IM probably is more of a Thomas type of player not a Riddick in that he can't be an every down running back. While I agree that Kelly can get touches to his best players, our offense isn't currently built to handle the small but electrifying players like Thomas or IM. Could that change possibly but you can't know for sure till we get one, while Oregon has a proven record of using the smaller athletic players.
