Wow. Good luck but not exactly gonna lose sleep over this one.

Will his brother actually be back next year or does he transfer?

Good luck GAIII. Hope this works out well for him.

I know it's been discussed a bunch but I really really wish we had a true running back in this class.

how he was really in the dog house and I think its pretty clear his dad has told Kelly to F off. Good luck returning kicks in the NFL George.

Well, it's not like he would have gotten more carries next season, but the guy has got something that is coveted in the NFL; great speed, so I can see some reason behind him entering the draft.

However, I don't see him being drafted.

Autoban for saying anything negative about Rees but celebration gifs because a running back who averaged 6 yards per carry went pro.

This is what I'm wondering. GAII says Josh will be back, according to Andrew Owens. We'll just see.

I'll say that if I were Josh I would stick it out for one more year and then take advantage of the rule that allows him to transfer without sitting out a year after he gets his degree.

But it sounds like there is bad blood between the Atkinsons and Kelly, so who knows.

I know there was a falling out with BK and the family, but I really wish he would have stayed. Our O in theory will be wide open with Golson back next year and seemingly a stacked WR core. Really think GA could have some damage in a role similar to the one he had in 2012 (4-8 carries a game, lots of counters and quick pitches)

How is this helping ND?? Who is going to return kicks next year? Cam?

Anyway, good luck GA...

I would've done the same thing as George IF he is convinced that he will get less carries next year with the development of Folston and Bryant.

I'm guessing George is looking at it from this perspective. If so, he believes he has two choices as it pertains to making it in the NFL.

1. Declare for draft and hope he gets drafted or signed as a free agent. Option 1 success rate would be viewed as somewhat low.

2. Return to ND, get very limited carries, see his stock drop even lower and hope to get drafted or signed as a free agent. Option 2 success rate would be basically zero.

Neither choice has very little chance of succeeding, but Option 1 would definitely give him a better shot at the NFL.

Mr. Irrelevant?

I think he'd be happy if he were Mr. Irrelevant coming out of the draft... unfortunately he is Mr. Irrelevant going into the draft.

But as others have said, it is unlikely his stock would improve next year. If he wants a shot at the NFL this is it. Hopefully he can get his degree soon though.

If he runs a great 40, he'll be drafted on speed alone and to be a return guy.

Amir Carlisle looked pretty good returning kicks against Rutgers.

It's also a good way to get some more use out of him if he is to be #4 RB on the depth chart.
