He graduated in 3 and a half years from ND, and was the only FBS player in the country to be going to law school while playing as a 5th year in 2010. Think he may have not graduated from law school, as I know he was on the Jets practice squad for a bit.

OT to the thread but pretty sure he is still in Law school at ND. I know he was their last semester because he had a bookstore team with other law students that made it pretty far, and I see him on the sideline for every home game.

sorry, didn't wanna post premium info so I kept it as short and sweet as possible lol.

I thought premium info couldn't be quoted and posted as its paid subscriptions. I thought the site was told its not permitted.

And I like the part in the quote where his dad says he needs another year in the program to mature.

well, at least his knee will be fully recovered...and then he'll have a full array of Jim Moras knocking on his door...

I hope the knee provides some time to reflect on just how quickly it can end, and how important plan B is in all of this...

He returned to law school after the NFL didn't work out.

Lest We Forget ...

Lest We Forget ...

among the nagging recriminations of coaching bias and ineptitude ...

Seems like only yesterday, instead of 6 days ago, but to the nagging incriminators it apparently never happened. No, it's just not possible the a painful injury could be the root cause of reduced opportunity for PT, or for an individual's frustration, or rumors of transfer.

Six day old actual news that was probably being dealt with weeks ago when the smoke started.

How quickly it faded from memories helped by 20 pages of emotiposts.

Thanks, #1Irish for posting the article.

Chicago Tribune

The nagging questions about when Notre Dame would play five-star freshman tailback Greg Bryant have been answered.

That answer: Probably not until 2014.

Bryant has a “severe case of patellar tendinitis,” Irish coach Brian Kelly told reporters after practice Thursday, and will undergo a four-week platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy program to address the injury.

If he's on the team next year I will do the naked lap.

100% OT, but in the spirit of the thread calming down:

When I was in law school, for Halloween prank, 4 other guys and I did lap around inside of what was then Senior Bar. We had gone into bathroom, got naked and did lap. At end of lap, we ran straight out front door of bar into buddy's waiting car in parking lot to make our escape. Total elapsed time for prank: <60 seconds.

We didn't even get car out of parking lot onto Eddy St before ND cops had us pulled over.

A few days later we rule-breakers had a ResLife hearing with some Associate Dean (who was so serious...really made me laugh as I was already 2 years out of the Marines by then).

We lost our privileges to drive on campus and attend school activities for a semester. Also had some community service. They tried to get us for worse, but we were all 21+ and relatively sober.

So run fast, Jimmymac...you might miss a season of football games if you get caught!

GB seems like the type of guy that wears his emotions on his sleeve. He probably is very frustrated and is spouting off about transferring. Hopefully it is an all talk no action situation. I would love to see him stick it out and have he and TF have awesome Irish careers.

Yeah, this is what I'm wondering. I think a lot of guys are frustrated freshman year and say they are transferring, but end up not doing it. I recall that a football player who lived down the hall from me my freshman year at ND was recruited heavily by Stanford and kept telling us (privately) throughout his freshman year that he felt he'd made the wrong decision and was considering transferring to Stanford. I specificaly remember him saying, when we asked him why he'd picked ND in the first place, "I just visited and felt like I should come to school here--and it'll be that easy leaving". But it never happened, and he graduated from ND with us. GB's situation, as described by jimmymac, reminds me a lot of this dude. The difference is that GB may have taken some relatively concrete steps toward leaving .... I guess we'll just see.

Which is what would be really frustrating if Damefan, et. al. just ran with the rumors that are out there and blew this up into something it didn't need to be. I think the majority of us have been hearing pretty strong stuff for weeks but none of us are going to go put a kid on blast. That's just really irresponsible.

The most proud I've ever been of our fan base was keeping the EV thing under wraps for literally months without anyone making a public post and causing drama. 100% of the time there is a better chance for something to get worked out behind closed doors than once it hits the fan.

In fairness... Damefan never said anything about Greg specifically... our base just assumed.

After II spoke to Mr. Bryant, Damefan apparently posted this on the Bang Bang Facebook group:

1. I'll never mention names...period!... 2. Alice Lynch said Aaron was in NO WAY leaving Nd... High maintenance kids exist... Let's keep our fingers crossed that family matters to kids...

That petulant attention whore gets no sympathy or benefit of the doubt here. He has crowed about having inside info and been wrong pretty often lately.
