How much did you lose in your bet due to his not committing same month he visited?

I think it was either a million or 15 million lol. Damn it, Yeargin!

Edit: Me2SouthBend, you didn't have to give me that. Thanks!

Well 3 of the 5 are on the d-line. We could get Dickinson and Holley (fingers crossed), that's one heck of a haul. And you didn't even mention Bonner, who will also play on the DL

I completely agree that his haul looks very good. I am much more optimistic about Hayes and Trumbetti than the average service is. When I said work I could have been more specific, we need another DT/NT player and one that is a game changer.

Seeing how the season hasn't even started I'm still holding out hope for a Carter, Holley, Thomas haul...

if they win games and get them on campus there is no reason to think we all need to give up hope on Carter and Co. in August...

Some great quotes in here. Says he will be playing CAT.

Yeargin III Talks Decision

“I didn’t know much about Notre Dame when I first went up there, but by the time I left, I had the full overview and the full picture,” he said. “I get it. You either get it or you don’t and I got it.”

I think Thomas is a real possibilty, he's a ND type guy and outside of stanford who will be tough to beat I think we offer what he wants.

Update from TJ on Front 7:

We have 2-3 spots, probably, for the best available front 7 prospects remaining between now and....yep, NSD.

A number of possibilities left. Preferably another Inside-oriented DL, another Inside-oriented LB, and another Edge type who could play "Cat" or DE or both.

I continue to like and feel confident about our recruiting overall and defensive recruiting of note here.

Good good good news for us and for Richard and both families {his birth family and his new extended one}. Another young man on the right path to become what he can be.

As to comments about speed & jumping measurables:
1). we probably don't have enough facts on this anyway;
2). he has stated that he's in a growth spurt. That usually means that his body [read, especially, connector ligaments etc] haven't quite settled in yet. He'll probably grow into his "fast twitch" explosive potential sometime soon.

Relax. Life's good when you're Notre Dame.
I also don't understand the speed thing. As a freshman and sophomore, Yeargin played safety. He grew into a linebacker/rush DE. This kid has football quickness and coverage skills. I'm talking Jaylon Smith, Matthew Thomas coverage skills. Playing for 7 on 7 south Florida Express, he showed those skills in practice against Ermon Lane, Sam Bruce, Travis Rudolph, and Johnnie Dixon. This year, playing for University, he will be on one of the best high school football teams in the nation. Yeargin, Sam Bruce, Sean White, Wilson, Scarlett will be drawing a lot of attention to south Florida football. University has regular season games against Manatee, Booker T, and Miami Northwest. At the end of the season, I expect to be seeing him showcase his skills at one of the All Star games.

God this guy is perfect for us. A guy with the body of a defensive end and the coverage skills of a safety? That's exactly the kind of linebacker we want. What a great pickup for Diaco's D.

I would really like him to be a ilb. Good coverage skill and can be a good run stuffer.
