Ah, the famous, mythical Silent. I've heard of those. I continue to seek physical proof like that of Bigfoot.

If you look closely on the left side of the frame, you can see a shadow of a man down on 1 knee, that's Coach Alford laughing hysterically.

I would love for this random poster to be correct.

I personally didn't like bonnets.

Cool story bro.

If the whole II poster's story is true then I am ecstatic. Taking 3 star guys like these are what rounds out Championship rosters.

Can't you just imagine this group sitting around a campfire, guitar strumming in the background, toasting marshmallows and sharing a doobie?

I'll be there, haha. I'll bet it would be the best sports discussion that OTL has ever heard.

I never got defensive. If i did, when? I said i wasnt blown away by his film. That means exactly that, nothing more, nothing less. If someone was blown away by his film, so be it, thats fine with me and im glad they shared their opinion. This is a messsage board for DISCUSSION.

The sensitivity and the feeling like someone has to be right and someone has to be absolutely wrong is unbearable at times. This is not a zero sum game. We all watch film differently, we all see and focus on different things, and most importantly, none of us are ND coaches. We're all welcome to watch film and share thoughts. And if you don't like those thoughts, that's great. Generate a discussion off of it, not a fight.

And grambo/TP, when/where did I contradict myself? You can't call someone out and then not back it up. That's I'd trolling, so lets hear it.

I think this would be considered getting defensive.

I hope so. He got a congrats tweet after his visit that was peculiar too. So it wouldn't shock me. It would certainly be prudent to wait until admissions cleared before announcing publicly. Evidenced by several players that have committed in recent years before clearing and ending up with egg on their face. Smart kid that is silly talented. I could give not two $hits what his offers are, his stars or what others think. When I watch this kid on his film, I see electricity in motion. I will be very excited to see how he ends up, regardless of whether he end up at Notre Dame.

Btw, I showed his film to my scUM buddy and he was blown away. He is still holding onto hope that the season works in a way that gives them a shot down the road. I obviously told him to get ____ed, but it was cool to see someone that usually dogs on kids that are ND leans be so excited about McKenzie.

Does anyone know how long these "admission issues" take to get cleared up? Can this last deep into the recruiting cycle as he tries to satisfy a specific requirement or is it simpler than that?

It depends on what the issue is. If it is an act/sat score than it will last until he gets a high enough score, if it is GPA it can last until he can bring it up, etc. I am not saying that it is any of these but basically the timeframe depends on what is the actual issue with admissions.

anyone else feel like this kid?

These people are Aaron Hernandez level dumb. They're really going to get so serious about smashing cake on each other as to risk knocking over their baby or hitting him in the face? Worst part is they are probably are the ones who posted it to the internet in hopes of achieving a tiny level of fame.

Back to the idea that McKenzie might be a silent commit pending academic clearance, has anyone else ever noticed his twitter bio? It says "#blessed Nd #Motivated" Isaiah McKenzie Twitter

It could be that he is just being a kid and shortening 'and' like people do on twitter. It's weird but possible. OR, as I want to think, it's an nod to the school he is committed. A lot of kids put where they're committed in their bio. He might be doing it without being too explicate and blowing his cover that he wants to be there but has to wait until he knows he will qualify.

I don't doubt he's a silent commit, but that Nd was in his profile before he visited South Bend and received his offer.

I personally think he has told the staff he wants to verbal as soon as the academic issues are cleared sufficiently enough to allow them to accept the verbal. No inside info, just what I believe from all I have seen and read.

I also believe Holmes told the staff that barring UCLA blowing him away, he is coming. The insiders and whispers from ND seem to think both these guys are going to verbal eventually, just a matter of when.

If that happens, we are in a great spot at WR and can sit back and be patient with borderline elite guys and truly put our eggs in the elite WR baskets (Quick especially - I love him).

That "Nd" isn't meaning Notre Dame, it's actually meaning "and" lol. So it would read "#blessed and #motivated". I know it's confusing but that's how kids do it these days

I'm only 24, when did 'nd' happen? Not sure that 'and' is hard to type but 'nd' doesn't even make sense. Why not 'n' even? AHH

It's a rather recent thing that I have noticed on twitter. Why they don't just add the "a"? I have no idea. I'm only 19 so some of the people I follow use "Nd" too

nd instead of and save a character. It's the new twitter lingo trying to fit as much into 140 characters as possible.

I feel like I missed a lot in this thread. Things seem to be missing...

Oh, and no one is going to point out he's wearing a ND stocking cap in that picture? Odd for 2 reasons. 1) It was June in SB. No need for a winter hat. 2) No need for a winter hat back in FL. Color me confused.

Do want.

A certain Houston Cougar wore an ND stocking hat at The Opening. Thanks for bringing that memory up!!
