Hmm...clearly he's either still open to switching his commitment, or he's taking us for a ride for free entertainment at the two biggest home games we have this season.
Never been to either on, but does iowa state have a better weight room than ND? Seems silly to even think that.
I agree but Iowa state? Possible he is just saying that?Doesn't matter. Weight rooms will only get you so far. We have superior talent and coaching. That's what matters.

Is there a chance that his offer isn't 'actionable?'

Our weight room isn't that old if I recall. I think it's within the last 10 years they put it in. Still, I have no idea what Iowa State's looks like.

I had to unfollow Lazard on twitter because he's so pro ISU. He doesn't sounds like he's flipping anytime soon so I just don't see it happening. Hopefully Iowa State does really horrible this season.
I'd rather just wrap up Holmes in July. That way ISU can celebrate winning a desperate recruiting battle against us, we can pat them on the head and then move on.
Take both![]()

The Iowa State weight room is world class. There's an article earlier in this thread about it. I'm on my iPad so can't pull it up right now but basically Iowa State decided they needed to have an edge somewhere and the weight room is it. It may be the best in the country. They went all out.

And with Lazard, it's not just the weight room, it's the strength and conditioning coach. He is mesmerized by him.
Best in the country? Did you see 'Bama's new weightroom? It's HUUUUUUUGE!:
This may be a silly question, but why are these weight rooms SO ENORMOUS, with endless rows of the same equipment. It's visually impressive, but seems a little much. There's only so many guys on the team. 85 men, 85 squat racks?
As for Mr. Lazard, I'm always dubious about elite kids who commit early to hometown programs that traditionally suck (same with Elam and Kentucky). Maybe his family ties keep him there and if so, God bless. But I'd lay significant odds that some point this season, he's going to see them getting drubbed, on their way to 5-7, and realize that he alone isn't going to be enough to change that. And then he'll call Bob Elliott.

Official for either the Oklahoma or Southern Cal game. Says Iowa State set the bar pretty high.
