You guys aren't going to believe this bullcrap: I won the powerball for 500 million, and just heard taxes are going to insane. I might as well tear up the damn ticket already. What's the point if the government wants a hundred million of it?

As far as recruiting, all I can say is "meh." Bama still got a better class, don't see why everyone is so excited about falling even further behind them.

Kelly is an idiot. I'm still fuming after seeing us completely abandon the run game in the 2nd half of the title game. 35 points isn't big enough of a deficit to get pass happy, and the 1.6 ypc average is only because we didnt even try. Hopefully next season he figures it out, but I'm not holding my breath.

AM I DOING THIS RIGHT?

It's been a while since I checked on these ND radicals and didn't take long for me to find nonsense.

What do you think of Kelly using Twitter?

Kelly regularly Tweets or Twits or whatever you call that assinine form of digital communication. Do you think he does it to look hip for the recruits? What do you think of him doing that? Does it make him a twit? Not that it matters, but do other major coaches do that?

I think that's beneath someone of his position. It's for kids and self-promoting celebrities.

That is friggin' classic. Someone tell that twit that pretty much every college coach is using Twitter or any other type of social media tool that those dinosaurs probably rag on every day.

The funny thing is that if Kelly didn't text, use twitter, facebook, etc, he'd lose recruits and those dinosaurs would be calling for his head.

Friggin' A...thanks for reminding me why I've never visited that stupid site...

Just heard from a reliable source at NDNation that "faded" means doing lines of cocain off the a$$ of a stripper while kicking puppies.

The kids are out of control and don't care about football.

2-10 this year.

This is all directly related to the women's movement

In reply to: I don't think the pro-jumbotron crowd is capable of honestly posted by ACross

As women have moved up in status over the last 40 years, they have less interest in "staying in the home". So football games aren't only catering to a bunch of grumpy old dudes but women as well.

But more importantly, when women leave the house, the kids can't sit at home by themselves. So, now little children come to football games as well.

This all seems fine and dandy, but little children don't care about watching a 3 hour football game (sorry dads, they don't). This is why the jumbotrons have taken over nearly every major sports stadium. Children need to be entertained by something different every 2 minutes (kiss cam, hidden pot o gold, cartoon characters, LOUD!!!, NOISE!!!).

It's inevitable in USA 2013 that fans expect/want a jumbotron unless people realize bringing children under 10 isn't a good idea. Can't see society shifting back any time soon.

Blaming the women's rights movement as a reason ND fans want a jumbotron. Incredible.

This whole article is ridiculous, but especially how they take one quote each from an A&M fan, Texas fan, and Tennessee fan about hating jumbotrons then impute:

"What’s clearly evident to the rest of the college football world, Notre Dame seems either purposefully or calculatingly deaf and blind to"

Three random fans=clearly evident to rest of college football world? Lol

Haha yeah what a ridiculous statement. I'm personally against putting a Jumbotron in ND Stadium, but I'm aware that that is probably a minority view. ND Nation apparently isn't. Yet again they show that they are out of touch over there.

I agree with much of what those three fans say. But I can go with the flow. And I can adapt. And I realize through divine providence that I am not the one in charge. I also realize I don't have a stick up my a$$! (Most the time.)

I almost posted a coment on the article, but refrained.

I laugh at the amount of anecdotale evidence they spew, as with the three coments used in the column. If they are going to throw them out, here are mine:

7 friends, mostly OSU fans, went with me about 7-8 years ago (maybe longer) to the Navy game. They said it was great, they just wished they could watch the replays, or from their seats, see what was going on since they couldn't always see the play occur.

My 2 in-laws, one a graduate of ND, went to San Antonio a few years ago to the WSU game (I think it was WSU). They said how great the stadium was, and how much they actually LIKED the jumbotron there. These are 60'ish year olds talking about one of the most intrusive jumbotrons in America.

I'm not going to read the article again, I don't want them getting the hits, but I believe there was a line like "It's an insult to everyone's intelligence to say Rockne would do it".

Bullshit.

It just doesn't further your cause, and you have no answer for it. They talk about tradition. Hell, one of the first "traditions" of the ND football program was innovation. Yet, some of these cranky-assed alumni had no problem throwing that tradition out. They worry about it removing from it being a "special" place. Here's a tip (and this coming from the in-law above, not a statement from me. I'm not an alum, so I can't make a statement such as this, he can): If you think a jumbotron will make ND any less special, then you don't understand what makes it special in the first place.

One last conversation I had with hime recently (or, as NDNation says, "evidence") - I was out of town and couldn't watch the Blue and Gold game. He DVR'd it and I went over to watch. Within 5 minutes (and this is paraphrasing for effect, but you get the idea)....

Him: "Jesus, what a ****** field. When are we getting Field Turf."

Me: "Haha, dunno. According to some posts online I've read, never. Apparently, they don't want it changed."

Him: "Bullshit. THis is <bleep>'ing Notre Dame. This is embarrasing."

1.) How many people post over there?? I can't believe it's near here or GH... right? I have honestly never visted that site... at least that i can remember, but it sounds like ACross posting to himself at times...

2.) I wonder if they read our threads on them... lol

3.) I actually kind of agree with what the copied post said today (ugh, I know)... it makes sense and i didn't see it as blaming women's lib. just making a point as to why these things evolved more in teh past 20 plus years... maybe i am missing the context of the rest of the thread.

ACross. ND troll of the century.

At best, the worst kind of troll on earth.

Unfortunately, Andy Cross fits the description of the stereotype ND fan for many fans of other schools that think all ND fans are, arrogant, bitter, narcissistic, and lacking knowledge of the sport.

I perfer to think of him for what he is, an ND alum who didn't get into ND Law and is still grinding that axe decades later even though he is arrogant, bitter, narcissistic, and lacking knowledge of the sport.

ACross is NDNation's Louis Litt.

I appreciate traditions and respect them when they make sense. I also deplore change simply for change sake. However, with ND so many times people point out tradition and then point back to guys like Knute Rockne. However, Knute Rockne was one of the greatest innovators of his time. Seriously, google "Knute Rockne innovations" and you get pages and pages of hits.

This is why I don't mind the new stadium plans too much...would appreciate some version of turf...and probably wouldn't mind a video board if done without being garish (Hello Jerry Jones, I am looking at you)

[Wild Jetsons-like futuristic idea...the field could be the video board and show various things and then go back to looking like a field as the players come to the line]

****** HA the two guys above posted similar as I was working up my post!! *******

This part of this quote is so funny to me. He obviously doesn't recognize the technological ways of today's world. Do you think he has ever seen a smart phone or tablet?

If for know other reason(and there are more than this), using a video board of some kind for replays of great/controversial plays warrants the installation of a video board and will enhance the game day experience exponentially.

That I do. It's good to see that some of my Grammar Jedi trainees speak up now and then in my stead, but ...

It's dshans, not Dshans! Unless you begin a sentence with my screen name, of course.

Dammit!

If someone went into the Leprechaun lounge I'm sure they could pull out some crazy stuff that someone posted as well on some subject related to Notre Dame.
