OMG... I LOVE that schedule.... can we add Kansas and Eastern Michigan???
A Kansas game would make my head explode.

I'm, sorry, but we don't play a murderers row.......if you consider Purdue, Pittsburgh, BYU, the Naval Academy, and Michigan State part of a murderers row let's get real, on top if that, Michigan wasn't really all that good last year. Southern Cal was playing with a backup, and I haven't even mentioned Wake yet......
Missouri - 1st - 5-7
Auburn - 2nd - 3-9
Kansas - 3rd - 1-11
Florida - 4th - 11-2
Oklahoma - 5th - 10-3
Texas A & M - 6th - 11-2
Baylor - 7th - 8-5
Kentucky - 8th - 2-10
Arkansas - 9th - 4-8
Cal - 10th - 3-9
If we played Kansas ...
Who would have the schematic advantage?
Who would be thick, quick, and nasty?
Mbeckha?
Whiskey, I know we don't deliberately schedule cupcakes.....we dropped ASU and am replacing them with FSU because of our ACC affiliation. I like the idea of playing FSU, its going to happen eventually, I don't understand why people get excited to see them try to water down the schedule to get to a NCG......it reminds me of the B1G......which, we play enough of them, but that's their mantra, not ours!!
I'd rather watch them play a good team and lose, than a cream pie and blow them out....just my personal preference.

That is a stone cold lie or you're just crazy. There is not a single person who would rather watch a team LOSE than win a tune up game. I have a mind to try to dig up posts from 2011/2010 and see how "happy" you were with our losses to good teams.
By what you just said, you would rather we go 0-12 against the top 12 teams in the country than have us go undefeated playing some cream puffs.
SMH.
Looks like we are going to Tallahassee
“As far as ASU is concerned, Notre Dame is under contract to play at Sun Devil Stadium in 2014,” said Rocky Harris, ASU senior associate athletic director. “If Notre Dame chooses to unilaterally breach the agreement that they have signed over five years ago, it will negatively impact us competitively and financially. It is also unfair to our fans and student-athletes. Our expectation is that Notre Dame will honor the agreement they signed since the game is less than 18 months away.”
Sucks. Means we're not doing an early end with Michigan.
We routinely play one of the toughest schedules in the nation, which is something to be proud of, but our relentless (and frequently front-loaded) schedule has also been an obstacle to post-season success for us.
Take a look at Sagarin's top-10 SoS for 2012. Not one of those teams finished with fewer than 2 losses, and most did far worse:
FEI's numbers are similar.
Point being, since we don't deliberately schedule cupcakes between challenging opponents, we can't afford to line-up too many elite programs. Doing so wears down the team, and the odds catch up with everyone eventually.
If ND wants out they will most likely have to pay ASU and maybe even cover the cost of ASU paying another school to come play. I say ND should keep its word.
What's up with everybody wanting to drop Michigan?
It's a great rivalry game. Not sure why everyone here wants it to end so badly...
It doesn't offer us anything other than an okay rivalry. No recruiting inroads, no new places to play. Let's use our independence while we still have it and replace Michigan with teams from Cali, Florida, Texas, Georgia, etc.

I understand playing teams from those states but i dont think theres any way to deny that Michigan is a big rivalry.
What are the chances ND beats FSU? I personally would love to crush them.
