That kid is FREAKIN HUGE. Looks like he has 3 kids and a wife at home lol. I love it. I'd like to see him on the O-line at tackle. I wonder how they're projecting using him?

Sorry but gotta disagree with you here. Want this kid on the DLine. We need him there.

Staff told him that he could play either D or O. We need D-Line depth bad. Just picked up plenty of stud O-Linemen this class.

That offer list speaks for itself

Offers:
Notre Dame
Alabama
Clemson
Florida
Florida State
Ohio State
Miami
North Carolina
Oregon
Virginia Tech
Washington
Michigan
UConn
Rutgers
Oregon
UCLA
Temple

Pretty soon people will see that Notre Dame offer for a defensive kid and say "Damn...this kid must be good."

Funny 247 says under the offer list that he is committed to ND but on the banner of his profile has him committed to Georgia today.

Jay Hayes

Then on the recruit finder page it has the Temple Owls icon next to him

it's all messed up lol

Before we launch into another debate regarding the physical profile for a NT, remember that nobody thought Springmann (6'6'', 300 lbs) and Schwenke (6'4'', 290 lbs) would end up at NT until they did.

Regardless, elite jumbo DL players are huge in every sense of the word for our program, particularly with our needs heading into 2013.

Well said. Sheldon Day fits into the category of 'swing player' on the DL. True 0 or 1 technique NGs are tough to find. I like how the staff seems to be applying their macro recruiting philosophy (recruit good athletes that are versatile) to DL recruiting (big bodies that could play any of the 3 positions).

This really is fantastic! We are looking at a somewhat small 18-20 man 14' class but it will be like this years class, meaning everyone looks like a player!

I have full faith and confidence that the staff is aware Nix will be leaving eventually and is planning accordingly. With that said everybody has it in their mind that you can't be a NG if your a certain height. Now I get that their is a prototype for every position but according to UND.com NIX is 6'3 and according to Jay's coach he is 6'4. I don't think one inch is going to stop him from playing NG.
