We've been jerked around by our top RB target for three straight years -- Huggins, Marshall, and now Green.

Huggins as in Savon and Marshall as in Keith? We barely even wanted Savon(not a scheme fit), and Kieth we weren't jerked around by at all. Him being a Georgia lock was the worst kept secret of last year's recruiting class. It sucks losing out on Green, but we were hardly jerked around. I am glad he verbaled now not at an AA game or NSD because now we can go out and get one.

We will be perfectly fine. We already have 7 backs on scholarship. We will get a back in this class. Plus I think we all saw this one coming

Hindsight is 20/20. Should have told Elliott we wanted him as a RB. He would have never visited OSU.

Funny...I saw he committed via twitter then I come home and I see on ESPN him saying this:

"I'm going to take my official visits and then make a decision,"

Backs have to look at our roster and think this too, right? Potential stud sophomores Carlisle, Atkinson, highly-rated freshmen Mahone, Russell. Lotta talented youth ahead of them? I'm not really worried...

I thought to myself, how would a Buckeye fan respond to this news if it happened to them and this is the best I could come up with.

BK must have told him that we are no longer interested, because he heard his last step is out of bounds and ummm we don't need him anyway especially since BK has already worked his magic and secured a double secret flip of a kid currently committed to another school.

Ugh, I am not a very happy Yankee right now, a damn one yes, but happy not so much. Did get the feeling it wasn't going in our favor, but thought for sure we would at least get one more shot on an official.

“@BigCountyPreps1: Ryan was the Nelson Agholor of the 2013 class.  #ND may be out of luck in Tampa Bay this year AGAIN”

For anyone that doesn't remember this guy thought we could snag 2-3 Tampa kids w/ Green as the catalyst, not surprisingly he thinks none now (small shot at Sherit)

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Rivals100 RB Ryan Green pledges to Florida State

Michael Langston Warchant.com
6/15/12

Friday was a hot day for Florida State on the recruiting trail. The Seminoles landed their second commitment of the day when Rivals100 running back Ryan Green of St. Petersburg Catholic pledged to FSU coach Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles. Green spoke with Warchant.com after the commitment.

"I actually knew the first day I was there at the camp for FSU," Green said. "I just wanted to wait to make sure I felt the same way when I left the campus. I just told my Mom and Dad, I'm ready to be a Seminole."

Green was in town for Florida State's camp this week, getting into town on Wednesday and working out during the camp on Thursday. He was a standout among a talented crop of running backs at the camp.

Green stated several times FSU's offense was a good fit for him and he wouldn't have a hard time getting acquainted to the scheme. However, at the end of the day it was the Florida State staff as a whole, especially running backs coach Eddie Gran that made the difference.
"Coach Gran had a big impact on the decision," Green said. "I just always feel comfortable learning from him as he's one of the best around. I felt so comfortable around Coach Dawsey and Coach Fisher. I really feel at home when I'm there

Bummer. His film was mind-blowing. But it's true that RB wasn't a huge need this year. We'll get somebody serviceable this year and get a stud next year hopefully.
