Jeter came back as DH, had a single, went first to third on a hit, and scored on a sac fly. Then left in the 8th.

Has a Grade 1 (lowest grade) quad strain and will be kept out until after the All-Star break.

This just stinks...he's my all-time favorite Yankee and I was so looking forward to his return. Yanks are tough to watch these days but are doing well considering the mess the line-up is in.

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a grade 1 quadriceps strain, retroactive to July 12, the Yankees announced Friday morning. Brent Lillibridge has been promoted from Triple-A to take Jeter's roster spot for the time being.

As a lifelong Yankee Fan, I pray that A-Rod gets a lifetime ban. I hate having him on the team that my children root for.

Replacement, Replacement, Replacement, Replacement Cruz, hitting .182, was put on the 15 day DL with a right knee sprain and NY called up Adams, hitting .190, again.

Meanwhile Arod's own doctor was on WFAN and claims Arod has no quad injury while the Yankees Team Doctor claims he does.


Why would the Yankees delay Arod's return when his replacements are hitting .182 and .190 against major league pitchers while Arod has hit .200 ... against Class A, Class A Advanced, AA, and AAA pitchers?

Cashman's probably calling MLB baseball every 15 minutes for an update on the Biogensis investigation. "No, NO, NO! You don't have to agonize over banning him permanently, 4 years will us out of this !@#$ contract! Just issue a !@#$ ruling!"

Yankees SS Derek Jeter said he thinks he'll be ready to play when eligible to come off the disabled list on Saturday. The shortstop said he felt good after running bases for the first time Thursday since going on the back on the DL on July 12 with a right quadriceps strain.

Yeah, he's old, but Soriano was a good pickup. Yanks did not give up much. Shocking stat... in last 4 weeks Soriano has 10 HRs, Yanks have 8, Yanks have not had a righty homer since Jayson Nix on June 25th.

RHP David Phelps (forearm strain) said he will make his second rehab start Tuesday, for Double-A Trenton.

Injured INF 3B Jayson Nix (strained right hamstring) should be activated when the Yankees visit the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Tied at 5 in the bottom of the ninth, Gardener opens with a walk. Moves to second on a WP. Jeter gets IBB. Cano Ks and Soriano drives in the winner with a single to center, hit #4. Suzuki also had 4 hits and along with Jeter's two account for 10 of NY's 12 hits.

Mo pitched the top of the ninth and gets the win, 2-2 on the year.
