Ship seems to be sinking on this season- the way this team hits they can't afford to have CC, Pettitte and Hughes all struggling. Vernon Wells(who finally swung a good bat last night) at first base??? although he did bail ARod out on a few throws! One would think something is up with CC, I keep waiting to see him put on the DL, has he ever struggled this bad? Yikes...maybe they'll pull one of those classic Yankee "dead in the water" to "alive and in it "(wild cards) type finishes!

Always liked Pet. (my mom has always had some weird crush on him too) but is always struck me how when he goes bad he goes REALLY bad...

it seems for his whole career he'd have one out of every six/seven starts where he just gets shelled in the first two innings and leaves down six plus runs in the second...

never understood that for a pitcher of his ability.

NY pulled out the win in the bottom of the inning on a Gardner single.

Nova pitched another strong game but didn't get the win due to Mo's BS.

NY beat BOS tonight 10-3 behind 15 hits. Hughes could win 20 with a 10 run offense.

Sabathia 4.66, 1.33
Hughes 4.97, 1.38

Hughes has given up HRs a lot more frequently than Pettitte but only a few more than C.C. Both Hughes and C.C. seem TP open with a bad inning, then do well, or open well for a couple of innings then give up the big inning.

I'm not touting Hughes, simply noting his stats aside from HRs don't seem much different from the other two.
