And the player from Newell's Old Boys sends his national team to the finals...

Krul would've saved at least the last one. Maybe two. WTF man...

Rematch of the infamous 1990 final... Argentia has been waiting for this one...

I actually picked this final at the start, should have put money down.. oh well...

I think Germany takes it, but Argentia winning wouldn't shock me at all... should be a good game.

A Messi-anic performance from La Pulga can never be ruled out. But Germany has got to be heavily favored here. 538 is giving die Mannschaft 2:1 odds of lifting the cup, which seems about right to me.

Two totally random thoughts:

-The third place match will be super interesting, like,... I never watch the third place game... I'll watch this one. Can't wait to see how the fans react and how team Brazil reacts.

-After yesterday's madness Argentina better look out for a quick Germany goal... If Germany hits any kind of early groove it could be over before it starts again. Not saying a 7 goal thing, but they could hit for multiple goals and get up two or three. I think Argentia needs to start Aguero...

How do you think Brazil will come out for the third place match? Personally, I think they will come out entirely disinterested.

Dude, the 3rd place game is always tits. 2 teams that have no pressure on them just open it up and play soccer. It's usually high scoring and fun as hell to watch, with the skilled players having more room to show their artistry.

Now that I said that, watch it be a boring, 0-0 game lol.

Is Di Maria supposed to be back for the final? He was sorely missed today. Argentina would probably have nabbed at least one goal in regulation if Messi hadn't been handling all the transition work himself.

I agree with this. They're utterly demoralized right now. They just suffered the worst WC loss ever, in terms of expectations, home field, GA, being a semi-final game, everything. Winning the 3rd place match is no better to them than losing it.

This is what I was wondering!

Argentina hasn't scored a goal in 202 minutes. They are in the final. I know that's not as long as it seems but that's still crazy

pretty incredible how terrible Brazil was. Very rare you see a host nation like that. And they were all but gifted the semis

Without Neymar, they were in trouble anyway against Germany. They seemed to go ultra aggressive (why not right) which backfired and left them open in a big way. I think the poor showing today in the third place game was just a product of an emotional let down, and somewhat the same aggressive strategy. Don't get me wrong, as a big fan of Germany I loved seeing them hang a touchdown on them.... just felt sorry a bit as I'm not a Brazil hater, and that has to really suck for the home country. My friends in Sao Paulo seemed to be on suicide watch after the semis. I couldn't even enjoy giving them hell about their loss LOL.

Solid day for the Dutch. Was a pleasure watching my man Vlaar from Aston Villa, along with his boys Robben and van Persie who always entertain. Wish they were playing tomorrow...

Not a fan of Dutch, but they did play a solid game. The officiating was suspect. Brazil should have been a man down anyway.

Should have been a man down, shouldn't have been a penalty, should have had a penalty when Oscar was fouled in the box...yeah, the ref was pretty bad.

Count me as one who was feeling sorry for Brazil. The weight of the country on their shoulders and forced to play a style that is non-Brazilian in every way. I dislike a couple of their players (Marcelo especially) but man, that was embarrassing and heart-wrenching all at once. The human in me felt bad for them these past few games.

Looking forward for tomorrow. Rooting for Argemtina, but I would put $$$$ on the Germans for sure.

No, the Brazilians deserve it for all they have done throughout the years. Masters of diving, cheated Croatia out of a win. They have perfected sticking their toe in the ground to draw calls. Not a player on the team I like.
