Pretty good half.

I've laid off the Bradley criticism thus far, but dude, get your shit together. That blown first touch at the D just before half ruined a good scoring chance. And it wasn't his first poor touch today.

As a player i always hated how you can win a ball cleanly with a slide, but if your cleats are showing just a bit it can go the other way. Bradley won that ball cleanly, yet now he is one tackle away from a yellow card now.

Its extremely hard to consciously go into a tackle at full speed and keep your spikes perfectly down. It's pretty much impossible.

First touches have been a real problem.. in fairness though it's been a problem for Germany too... rain and all.

Sounds like Portugal is dominating. Great news.

Nightmarish World Cup for the Ghanaian defender Boye. Own goal today.

Omar... our greatest offensive strength... Now that I think about it, you most likely meant that set pieces are out greatest strength in general. My bad. :)

No. I meant Omar...............

I've loved watching him in this World Cup. Physical, hard-working, but skilled and experienced. This guy's played Champions League football in his career. A guy like that is invaluable for us.

IMO Jones has been the best player on the US since he joined the squad. There's a reason why he's played top grade in Europe his whole career.

Also, it would be amazing if Jones scored for the US today, because he used to play for the German U21 team growing up and then they never moved him up to the 1st Team, so Im sure hes a little sour about that.

Agreed. The only two players that can lay some stake in the "MVP" category for the US besides Jones so far are Besler and Dempsey. If Fabian can score a goal this half or get an assist he definitely firmly asserts himself in there also.

Agreed. That was a perfectly timed tackle by Bradley. Seems almost unfair to call a foul.

But if it was our guy at risk of being spiked, we'd likely have a different perspective.

Could you please explain why this matters? I'm a bit confused on the system.

We have 4 points. Portugal and Ghana have 1. If either wins, and we lose, we will be tied with the winner, so the team that advances is the team with the better goal differential. Portugal's goal differential coming in is -4. Ours is +1. We could lose 2-0, and Portugal could win 2-0, and we would still advance. But Ghana's goal differential is -1. If they win 2-0, and we lose even 1-0, we are going home.

Ghana and Germany both scored, all it takes is one more score from Ghana to put them ahead.

Nah the second tiebreaker is number of goals scored, so Ghana would win that one.

Nope. You can consult the matrix that irishfan just posted above too. I don't understand too much but I keep reading and hearing that.
