'09 HI WR Robby Toma (Notre Dame Verbal)

Danny Woodhead was an elite Div II player though, a quick look at his Wikipedia page shows he ranks second in NCAA history for all purpose yards and had some spectacular work out numbers. The question with kids like Welker and Woodhead is whether or not they can make the step up in competition and in these cases they proved they could. Toma has had a fairly average career at ND so I can't really see him stepping up to NFL level unfortunately.

Yeah and Tom Brady was an average backup QB from Michigan at DIV I and Tim Couch was a stud. That's my point. It does not matter. If he gets a chance and proves he can play, then he will. I hope he gets that chance.

He started his final two years and won 20 out of 25 games. His final college game he threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns against Alabama.

He may not have been a stand out talent but he was a two year starter who led his team to a solid record and had good production the two situations aren't remotely comparable imo.

I hope he gets a chance as well, but I can't see any way he makes an NFL roster.

Tom Brady had a nice career at MICH.....And again, had some production.

I mean, what film does an NFL scout watch on Toma?

Robbie is an advanced student of Samoan Fire Magic and can project extremely irritating itch problems at a distance towards people who give him no chance to make the NFL. These problems tend to manifest in awkward places and times.

You are forewarned.

With the new rookie contracts it won't hurt as bad as it used too. But Manti has to put in a ton of work if he is going to change the Nfl minds. It is looking more and more that he will be an early 2nd rounder.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if anyone would take him up for even a scout position.

There are a lot of guys better than robbie. I love the kid, but if he's gonna play slot, he needs more to his arsenal.

I believe in loyalty and strong friendship. And I believe that we give too many people in media [and politics] free passes on their stupid and/or prejudiced remarks. God Bless Robbie Toma and "giv-'em he!l" every time your buddies are attacked with jerk remarks.

I find it unlikely that Robbie will play in the NFL either, but this sort of remark doesn't hurt that. If anything it shows that he'll stand up in your face and make a loyal commitment.

Robbie, applause, as usual.

I still think he stays in the first round, late, but in it. I believe the latest big board has him in the mid 20s

An unnamed team told Schefter that Manti was a first rounder 100% and if he was available when it was their pick they would take him.

What is Toma getting his degree in? If he doesn't get any looks football-wise, what's he got lined up? I'm not trying to be a jerk about his football future, I just like to see ND guys have success after graduation regardless of the field.

Loyalty like Toma's can't be bought. Notre Dame man through and through. I could see Toma being a coach someday and one very good recruiter. He will be a great asset wherever he ends up.
