Fantastic. If I was Pepe I would not be in the locker room at halftime. LMAO.

I read someone describe their passing on a different forum as "considerate". Really the perfect word to describe it if you think about it. They really always pick the best option.

I haven't been able to watch much today but Germany's aerial balls always seem to be other level. A lot of their distribution is through the air and they are just crazy accurate.

Ghana is a tougher test than Portugal. I know Germany is amazing, but Portugal has not come to play.

Interesting. I wonder what happens it a few guys, including Klose obviously, get hurt.

I look at the Germans like terminators. There is always another one and the newer models are always better than their predecessors ;)

Mad that I didn't realize this before but there's a local AO chapter where I live. Just joined up and will be watching the game with them. Pretty excited.

Muller: 24 years old and already has 8 WC goals. Record is 15. He's got the rest of 2014, 2018 and probably 2022 to get 7 goals.

I hate to compare him to a below average USA player, but he is like Chris Wondolowski in that he is ALWAYS in the right place at the right time. Now put that instinct with world class ability, and you got Mueller. At the rate he is going, he will easily break it in 2018

Germany should win this 4-0 or better. Huge for goal differential.

I hope Germany puts in at least 2 more.

Still a lot of work to be done... even IF our boys beat Ghana it would be a major mistake to overlook a wounded Portugal.

Is anyone surprised that Ronaldo + 10 nobodies (rather, 9 after Pepe's stupidity) doesn't make for an imposing team? Laughing at everyone who included him on their fantasy squad.

That doesn't come close to doing him justice. He's not just an opportunistic scorer. Muller orchestrates much of Bayern's offense.

I had The US and Portugal getting 4 points each. I think this goal differential may be key for the US advancing.

It also does Wondo a bit of a disservice also... The Luc Robitaille’s of the world still have to have the instincts to be in the right place all the time. It’s not just luck.

Win tonight + tie vs. Portugal and it's all but certain that we advance

That makes two Portuguese defenders out for the US match.

Fantastic break for the US.... Pepe is a beast, and Hugo Almeida and Fabio Coentrao injuries could prove too much for Ronaldo and Nani to overcome. Just hoping the US pours it on Ghana tonight (tough one), and at least ties Portugal (we should win with Pepe and Coentrao out), and the match vs Germany likely doesn't matter with the goal diff.

To the early comments about Germany... yes, deep, strong, young and experienced, and lots of talent. Schweinsteiger, Klose, and Poldulski were all on the bench today I believe. Muller could be looking at another Golden Boot. Just hope the injury to Hummels is not a big deal. Certainly the most impressive game so far IMO.

Crazy stat of the day...

The U.S. has not had a World Cup goal from a striker since Brian McBride in 2002.

Jozy needs to come through today, maybe twice.

I'll take a cool hat trick so he remains on pace for the golden boot... ;)
