You will likely be underwhelmed by the game as an RPG, considering your extensive experience with the Witcher 3. I still encourage you to go with it, because it's a wonderful setting with a pretty good combat system. The game is beautiful, too, and every inch is available for exploration. The first time you sail on your ship, there is a moment of "awe" at the way they captured the deep blues and sunny skies of the Mediterranean.

And once you've mastered the gameplay mechanics, it's fun to try and devise the proper armor and equipment sets to match your preferred playstyle. Maxing Hunter, Warrior, or Assassin damage is a fun challenge, especially when you account for armor/weapon engravings that provide perks. I go with an Assassin Damage build and play for stealth. I've used engravings to maximize my critical hit chance and damage, which makes it more rewarding to sneak around and dispatch high-level enemies with single stealth attacks.

Accurate description. For me it's even better because I've been to a lot of the places in the game and I can understand what they are saying in Greek. I had my parents watch me play once and they were entertained.

Divinity Original Sin 2 is a very Whiskey sort of game fwiw. It's a huge RPG with tons of mathematical systems to exploit using creative thinking about how they play with each other. Very fun.

So Bloodstained is my new fav series. Curse of the moon was very good and so is Ritual of the Night. Ritual is turning out to be better than I thought it would be and I had pretty high expectations as it was...

Any of you losers play rust?

I played early on in Alpha, but the games always devolve into base raiding, and the fact your character is persistent in the world 24/7 makes it tough to compete with the kiddies and jobless. Can't defend your base while you're logged out making a living, ain't got time for games like that anymore.

Just downloaded this, tryin' to talk my buddies into playing it for console night:

I've played for a couple hours so far, pretty fun. Right now you can get it for less than $20 after tax on PS4.

Tap Sports Baseball from the App/Android Store is addicting AF and I don't even care for baseball.

Haven't been around much lately but I've been playing Switch pretty exclusively lately and I just thought I'd check in to say, if you aren't playing Mario Maker 2, then you are an idiot.

It's amazing. The addition of 3D World is great. Clear pipes have so much utility.

I'm loving it for my daughter. She's four years old and it's the best to be able to create super simple levels for her to get the hang of video games in general.

There it is.

The pitch I'm gonna give to my wife when I tell her I want to buy a Nintendo Switch on Black Friday this year.

Seriously though Lion, I think it's the greatest console ever made. The game library is insanely good and the portability is a game changer.

Buy it now you poor. I'm buying my second one when the Lite comes out.

Also.

I honestly don't understand the draw of the Lite based on the price point... just spring for the regular Switch for the extra $100... bigger screen when you're playing on-the-go, and no restrictions in terms of gameplay, dock, etc.

Has anyone played Hideo Kojima (famous for Metal Gear) new game, Death Stranding?

Maybe it's not out, but I thought it came out in May.

I would never JUST buy the Lite but it has appeal as a second unit. Leave the main switch docked in the living room and take the Lite on airplanes and shit.

Ahh, I didn't even consider it as a supplement to current owners. Makes sense for families that all share the console frequently.

I love the switch but I do not get this one at all... for me it's very limited and needs a wider scope.

I'm kind of here unless there is an easy way to convert saves back and forth... I'd just pay the extra 100 for everything.

It's not broad but it's damn quality, even just the first party titles. Smash, Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, Mario Maker, Mario Party, Donkey Kong, etc. Those are years worth of games for me.

Cloud saves are shared between devices, boomer.

Pikachu using the PDP Wired Fight Pad Pro (GameCube style controller). I am basic AF.

Solid choice. I'm partial to Ike.

Bummed none of my favorite beat 'em ups (X-Men, the Simpsons, Turtles in Time, Alien vs. Predator) are available on Switch yet. They're all caught in a weird state of licensing limbo, so unless Fox grants them permission for another release, Konami and Capcom just have to sit on them.

Started a new EU4 campaign as Portugal. While I've been busy dominating trade around the world, damn near everybody in Europe became Protestant. I leave the continent alone for one century...
