My original Tolkien comment wasn't meant as a big deal or a discussion of specific lore inconsistencies. I just think a world-building obsessed linguist who wrote this:

Sing all ye joyful, now sing all together!
The wind's in the tree-top, the wind's in the heather;
The stars are in blossom, the moon is in flower,
And bright are the windows of night in her tower.
Dance all ye joyful, now dance all together!
Soft is the grass, and let foot be like feather!
The river is silver, the shadows are fleeting;
Merry is May-time, and merry our meeting.
Sigh no more pine, till the wind of the morn!
Fall Moon! Dark be the land!
Hush! Hush! Oak, ash and torn!
Hushed by all water, till dawn is at hand!

Would probably find that entire trailer, rock music and all, disgusting.

I got about half way through the Witcher 3 a year ago and haven't picked it up since. The storytelling is superb, but the combat just feels like a chore to me, which has always been my biggest grope with the series. It's way to floaty, Geralt feels like he's on ice skates. I played TW3 immediately after bloodborne and I honestly think the combat in BB was so much better that it ruined the Witcher for me.

Is that Tom Bombadil?

From the Hobbit, the last chapter. Sung to Bilbo on his return to Rivendell after the adventure is complete.

About 30-45 minutes into the Witcher... first impression, a far more tendious and complex take on Skyrim... this game would have been awesome for me if it had come out when I was ten years younger.... I'm already like, "I'll never find time to fully appreciate this....."

I'm sad that you find it tedious. I thought Skyrim was tedious in comparison. Most of the side quests and main quests felt engaging. There were a few times where something became monotonous but it became my favorite story & game ever. I wish the menu navigation system were more fluid and more easily navigable. I spent a great deal of time reading/scrolling through items when they could've had an 'auto-highlight' system that would be triggered when facing certain enemies, creating certain concoctions/oils/etc.

Perhaps others found it easier.

edit: Whiskey is also sad by the Witcher dissent, ha ha. Didn't see that before my post.

What class have you been playing primarily?
Conqueror, exclusively.

My biggest problem with the game right now is that people don't play Dominion properly. They run around like idiots trying to capture every point without bothering to ever HOLD any point. I usually finish #1 on my team by simply camping out on the control point closest to the enemy's spawn and wrecking all the fools who come to challenge me. If people bothered to actually hold points, there would be way more interesting 1v1 situations, which is where the game shines the most.

Agree on the menu, tedious in that every quest seems too long to get to the meat... not an overly strong criticism,... maybe I'll get there... I like to complete as many side quests as possible, they seem more fulfilling in these games... but each quest thus far seems, well tedious...

I'm not so much knocking it as admiring it from a standpoint of a time limited gamer... I do wish some of the first quests and the overall tutorials were more streamlined for those like myself. Elder Scrools games did a better job of grabbing you initially... but I'm playing and enjoying overall,... for clarity I'm not knocking the game, I'm overwhelmed by it.

I've researched it... it's a known issue, if you don't do certain quests in the exact order then it glitches... well, if you demand a certain order then fucking lead me there... I'm starting the entire game over due to this...... smh... not happy.

I don't think devil by the well is required. I'd just continue with the main story if I had put a lot of time in.

Isn't it usually the first Witcher Contract you get? It's been a while, but I seem to recall the game walking you through some brief tutorials on the importance of preparing for tough fights by applying blade oil, brewing potions, researching monster weaknesses, etc.

I have absolutely no tolerance for glitches. I abandoned Skyrim after about 30 hours because I couldn't get the damn Strange Amulet out of my inventory.

Dove back in yesterday afternoon... followed a step by step guide for that Devil by the Well quest and it worked... the first time I dove right into the well without searching the huts and that was what glitched the game... played a bit after that and one of my next side quests also glitched, Termerian Valuables.. though this one isn't crashing the game so whatever... whenever I go into the secret basement to get the gold the chest that is supposed to end the quest is just dead and can't be opened(researched this one and it too is a common glitch)... so that quest will just sit forever undone I guess... whatever...

having fun and getting used to it overall...

one thing, I'm trying to do side quests to level up and damn, some of these side quests you find very early in the game are way too hard early on... like recommended lvl 30 and such... I'm guessing it's just like Skyrim where if you leave a quest open for a long time it just sits there waiting for you to tackle it correct??

That's correct. You'll build up a queue that you can search while leveling up. I did the same thing. Focusing on the side quests is fun but it's slow-going for leveling up. The main quests provide the real boost. If you're the preparation type, I'd suggest looking up the armor guides and determining how you want to build/spend your points. I didn't do that and Whiskey pointed out that failing by showing me what well-designed Witchers look like. Scroll back a few pages for some derrrrrty witcher action.

You can always reset your points by purchasing a "reset elixir" can't remember the name. Such a great game, really can't wait for the next in the series (and the next in the Elder Scrolls series).

March 21st is when Mass Effect: Andromeda gets released. My PSN is IrishInFl, so add me on that and we can do the co-op missions and multiplayer.

Moriarty made a light hearted joke at the expense of International Women's Day. He received the expected blowback, but nothing I'd call surprising these days. The issue is that this mild drama was the straw that broke the camel's back and he resigned from a small company he created. There's a strong likelihood that his business partners told him to stop making waves, which he didn't want to do. They decided they were drifting apart and he agreed to be bought out so he could get into political commenting. That's pretty much it.

As a frequent viewer of Kinda Funny largely for Moriarty, I find this unfortunate but not unexpected. He had been phoning it in for close to a year and was obviously feeling unfulfilled in his current job.

How this is the makings for a larger controversy I have no clue. But Rubin really really really wants it to be so we'll see. That neckbeard alt right gamer market is skrong.

You think there's a lot of overlap between the neckbeards and the alt righters? The Boogie2988 crowd seems like a different bunch than the Richard Spencer crowd.
