WWE 2K16 is free for Live Gold members right now. I'm not a huge wrestling fan but the price is right for nostalgia purposes.
I've been saying... they aren't going to leave a massive market un-tapped... once they are confident there are no longer legal ramifications they'll dive right back in...
What I'd really like to see would be cross-functionality between console and PC, not for the gameplay itself but for the menus and customization elements. Being able to keep your roster updated with a mouse and keyboard in something resembling and Excel worksheet would be clutch. If there were some indy-developer bros out there that are also college football nuts, that would be ideal... EA's monopoly on the sports market is killing the progress of the genre.
Plus, you'd think it would be easy to create a generic football engine that allows for customization via some type of editor. Then you don't have to worry about licensing at all. Let individual users create the specific content they want. If Joe Schmo creates an exact replica of the NCAA DI football structure, down to the likeness of student managers, the game isn't liable for that as long as Joe Schmo isn't profiting of of his download (right?).
EA did a completely half-ass job on their TeamBuilder site every year, and it was still amazing for creating and generating teams and rosters. Adding a few more options and making it user-friendly in terms of creating teams (in bulk) seems like it'd be right up some football-nerd-programmers ally.

Getting a NCAA Football game on a next-gen console would be an absolute gamechanger.
That already exists? That's kind of what I meant in referencing EA's TeamBuilder website.
Use the keyboard and mouse to easily customize everything from uniforms, to stadium, to team names, to team colors, upload logos, design jerseys, edit rosters. Basically everything the Teambuilder website does, but also add a space for customizing the landscape of competition. Decide how many teams will be playing DI football. Decide how many conferences there are. Decide what they will be called, what the league rules are, what the postseason is like, etc. And do it all from the comfort of your mouse and keyboard.
Then, simply download your work via internet on your console. The disc will simply be a means of loading the game engine and the base... the downloads from the website would throw a skin over everything.
The hardest part would be customizing stadiums from some type of easy-to-use editor. As long as Joe Schmo is doing it, you could design completely accurate stadiums and make them available for download, but you would (1) need to find someone with the technical, programming, and editing ability and (2) would need to be sure that the editor webpage isn't generating revenue.

I'm thinking of getting Madden,.. I'm super bored sitting here waiting for FIFA and MAFIA 3... thoughts? Anyone play it yet? I assume it's like every other recent EA product and basically just a roster update?

Can't wait for Mafia 3.
And I have last years Madden simply because Ed O'Bannon is an asshole.
It's a must get. #StoneColdLockOfTheDay
Still play the NCAA '14 version a lot, especially around this time of year. The Operation Sports Forum keeps a pretty accurate roster download each year which is awesome.
I still have it, I barely played it last year and don't know if I will this year... who knows. Can't get rid of it though... what would be the point anyway, it's worth like 1 dollar if anything in terms of re sale.
On ebay it is worth money.
But after interviews with more than 10 inside sources -- including those in the video game industry and executives at schools -- as of now there is no traction on EA making a new college game.
Eh, I see it going for anywhere from 5 to 15 bucks... still not enough to get me to take the time to list, sell, box it up and take it to the post office etc...
Don't get rid of NCAA '14. Until they make a new one, if ever, that's all you've got. You'll regret it if you give it up!
I've been playing something else too. Obsidian Entertainment (Fallout: New Vegas, Knights of the Old Republic 2, South Park: Stick of Truth) created a game called Pillars of Eternity. Many of the people at Obsidian were also the publishers for the Baldur's Gate I & 2 on PC back in the day. Pillars of Eternity very much plays like Baldur's Gate between the party mechanics and the D&D concepts (Without the D&D specific spells and such, they're renamed). From a questing/RPG standpoint it's true to Obsidian in that there are a ridiculous number of possible dialogue choices and paths you can take when questing. There's also factions and reputation. Overall it's been pretty fun, good characters and story. I believe it supports both active combat (With AI), or turn based movement/actions, but so far I've just been using the active combat. Classes you can play as include: Barbarian, Chanter (Somewhat like a Bard), Cipher (Something like a Psion or Warlock I gather, haven't met one yet), Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Priest, Ranger, Rogue, and Wizard.
