I prefer to reheat pizza in the oven, but if I'm hungover or at work, that's not an option. When microwaving, I saw a life-hack where you put a glass of water in the microwave with the pizza. It keeps the bread from getting overly flimsy or chewy.

The glass of water trick is real

Man, half the fun cooking at home for me is cooking something awesome, and knowing that if I cook enough, I can eat it for several meals during the week instead of relying on the usual lunch options.

I cook to have leftovers.

My wife cooks to starve me.

Also, Chinese and certain pizza are often better when they've been sitting in the fridge over night. Something about them blossoms in that leftover state.

I'm with you... I cook to have leftovers. Lasagna is definitely better the 2nd day. I don't want to eat the same leftovers for a week, but a couple of days is fine.

This relates to an earlier discussion we had in this thread about wives & kids breaking phones & tablets. My 19-year-old stepdaughter called me from college yesterday to inform me that she'd broken her i-Phone... the 4th one she'd broken in 2 years. I called her back today to let her know her replacement ($149 deductible) would arrive tomorrow. I told her, "Do you know what happens when a male lion takes over a pride? He kills all the cubs from his predecessor! That's where I went wrong 7 years ago. It's not too late to correct my mistake." She thought that was funny.

What school she at? Asking for a friend.

This. Cold pizza or GTFO

On the pizza topic. I'm still looking for good homemade crust recipe's, sauce as well. I love pizza. We have little good options locally, and I have no recipe.

My family recently tried using wonton wrappers into cupcake molds then add pizza sauce and whatever toppings you like then put them in the oven and bam instant family favorite with little effort.

When you're playing cards and people would rather talk than play the game. Most annoying thing especially since I am overly competitive.

Like, I don't care that your kid just made honor roll. Are you passing or calling a suit? (Euchre)

I may have to try that. The littlest one would love it I bet.

I play poker and love it when people talk about random BS, even if it slows the game down a bit. The social chatterboxes are friggin' ATMs at the table. Please, talk about your recent vacation or home improvement project all you want so I can take shots at your stack.

Goddamn HR Block. I sold a fair amount of stock this year but their software is broken. I tried to import my 1099-B from my TDAmeritrade account and it imported the sale as if the entire thing was ordinary income. For those of you who aren't accountants, when you buy $30K of stock and then sell it for $31K, only $1K is taxable. But the Block software is calculating my tax on the full $31K and it won't let me delete or edit anything. So their robot chat software has been trying to fix my issue for the last hour and it comes out that I'm going to have to start my entire return over again.

This is extremely irresponsible when you consider that most people are clueless about the tax code and wouldn't have spotted this error. Some poor fool somewhere is out $7K because his return wasn't calculated correctly.

When you get a new job, moving from the second floor cubes to an office in the penthouse on the top floor, and less than 30 mins into your first day in your new office, a faculty member that you used to work under on the second floor feels the need to email and ask you to stop down "at your leisure" so they can ask a few quick questions.

Bitch, don't even come at me with your subtle "I'm still a faculty member, therefore I'm still above you" power-trip shit.

If you've got "a few quick questions," stop by my office to see if I'm in, or put them in an email.

Transparent douchebaggery has never been a problem at my place of employment until this f*ckstick got hired.

It seems like once a week I come into the office and there was a power surge or something, because everyone's computers are off. I don't care about turning on my machine while I go get a coffee or something, but that can eat up to 5 minutes that I have to make up later because the friggin' timecard has to be stamped from my machine. Lame.

I do volunteer income tax assistance - some people abuse the free service and use it to check against places like HR Block (yeah that grinds my gears, a-hole I give my time to help people and you are getting a second opinion). Invariably - we get a better result and they say "wow, the HR Block guy said I owed X and you say I am getting back Y - you guys are awesome" - Double grinding due to paid service being WORSE than the free one.

F- HR Block - get TurboTax. Worth the $20 and then some, second year will be so much easier when everything is pre-loaded. As for cap gains - just put "various" in there and total it all up. People drive me nuts thinking they need to enter every single buy and sell line - don't be stupid.

I like some chatter - social player myself. But dammit if I have to tell you EVERY DAMN TIME that "your up" and EVERY DAMN TIME you have no idea what the action is - just sit on the side and watch! And folks that look at every hand like it is the biggest decision in their life are just as bad. Make your move and go - until there is a real pot on the line keep it moving folks!

I can't stand poker players that only want to pull out the most ridiculous games - keep it to Hold'em or go home.

I was a grunt in our technical services area, doing a little bit of everything that goes on behind-the-scenes for the campus library (mainly cataloging new items, though).

Upon restructuring our faculty/staff in the library, which is an on-going situation, I was offered and accepted a newly-created marketing/promotions position for the library.

The other thing that grinds my gears is that "any position changes are designed to be lateral" is what they're preaching whenever faculty/staff ask about compensation.

But dammit, any move that takes you from "cubicle boy" to "penthouse man" is not lateral.

My roommate at Notre Dame spent our entire freshman year trying to learn Tears in Heaven on his guitar. I fell asleep four nights a week with him plucking out the first few bars over and over and over again. I can still hear it in my head.

Going to see Jersey Boys and having to get up four or five times to let knuckleheads get to their seats. Evidently they can't plan their arrival to accommodate the start of the play.

That's like when you're at a football game, and someone wants to get up and walk by you in the middle of a play. Drives me crazy.

Related: I have season tix to UC football, and the people that sit behind us and next to us usually arrive late. So for the first half of the first quarter every week, people are constantly picking our row to get through, even if their seats are several rows away, just because it's the first open space they see to travel through. Chaps my ass.

That thing gets me either way... I like to have the isle seat to make that dynamic a bit easier. I also have a pretty bad foot issue and being able to stretch it out helps... but it does get bad if you have a group that is constantly come and go... but on the flip if I am forced to sit in the middle of an isle I feel terrible every time I have to leave my seat (restroom etc.)... I'm a nut about being on time though so #1's issue about late arriving doesn't fit, tho it is super annoying being settled into a baseball game, just for example, with food in your lap, beer in your hand and here comes the family of six with mid isle seats in the second inning expecting you to stop everything and move.
