People who know the left lane is ending but proceed to fly past the ALREADY BACKED UP traffic.

Thanks jackass, I'll just stay here a little longer while you make the rest of us wait for your entitled ass

That's bad too. I hate the assholes that skip the pre-determined merging area and jump ahead in line by forcing their way in.

Although, there are studies that say the "polite way" is actually the wrong way... when a lane is ending, whether naturally or for construction, high-speed "zipper merging" would eliminate the usual merge-to-a-single-lane traffic.

People who pull their food out of the microwave early and don't reset the screen to show the time again.

Weird I know but gears grind hard when this occurs

Yeah, the microwave one gets me a bit, but I let it slide. Wives that fail to turn out lights, turn off fans and TVs, etc after they leave a room...now THAT one really gets me. Gonna make her start paying the Electric bill and see how she feels about leaving that stuff on

Here's one, older people who still cling to the races shouldn't inter-marry stuff. Sunday after church we are at a local spot having brunch... we sit down and right after us another inter couple sits behind us... there is an elderly couple across the isle from us and they show very noticeable disgust at both my wife and I and the other couple... pretty clear as to why... the elderly woman even says loud enough so all can hear, "I never thought I'd see the day." to her husband...

I feel your pain. Happened to my wife and I not long ago at a local restaurant for dinner. We heard the remarks after some obvious disapproving glances. The elderly gentleman even referring to my kids as "Halfies". My wife asked to pick up the kids but had then take the check receipt to them, after I jotted a tiny note.... "Have a great day! From the parents of the "Halfies" "

People in the office that cook the smelliest microwave lunches that they can find, particularly cheap Indian food meals.

Your food smells like hell. It makes the whole office smell for the rest of the afternoon. The only reason your coworkers haven't gone crazy yet is because we adjust to the smell after 30 excruciating minutes.

I know you have to eat... but can't you eat something that isn't so disruptively pungent?

(The guy in the office next to me cooks delicious, hearty, home-cooked leftovers every day. When I smell the gloriousness of his lunch, I instantly get hungry. That kind of grinds my gears in an extremely jealous type of way.)

I can't freaking stand when I'm walking down the side walk and I have to get out of the way of some idiot on a bike who nearly runs me over.... Bicycles are meant for the street! Not the damn side walk!!! GTFO!!!

People who don't take out their headphones or refuse to stop their phone conversation when checking out at a grocery store/convenience store. Along the same lines, the people who refuse to acknowledge the cashiers etc. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I find it to be very rude.

I also hate bicycles that insist on acting like cars, but only when convenient. The will run stop signs and red lights all day if there is no danger, and yet they want to be in the same lanes and get the same courtesy as vehicles.

They should be on the road. But should only be allowed in small groups.

People of Michigan can relate to the god damn DALMAC. When there are 50+ bicyclists on a main road. It's almost impossible to get around them without a head on collision occurring with an oncoming car. GEARS GRINDED.

This weekend I was flying back from Denver on Southwest and there was an entire Boy Scout troop on the plane. They literally spread out over the entire plane taking every single window and aisle even though they knew it was a completely full flight.

The end result was that no couples/families were able to sit together. One older lady flying with her very old mother asked a boy who weighed no more than 80 pounds if he would mind moving up a row and sitting in a middle seat with his troop mates so she could sit with her mother... and he says "no... I don't like middle seats." His scout master or whatever the fuck those people are called then backs him up and says "you should've done Business Select if you wanted to sit together."

It was one of the rudest, most inconsiderate things I have ever witnessed. I was never a scout, and it shocked me they would behave this way from what I know about Eagle Scout projects and such that are always about helping others, etc.

Man... you should have gotten a troop number and shot off some emails. That's some serious bullshit.

I guess doing a good turn daily is now optional. I'm an Eagle Scout and can absolutely picture some of my fellow Scouts acting that way, unfortunately. The problem lies with the adults attached to the troop not doing enough to mold the boys into young men. It's a shame, but not surprising. Did you get their troop number or the name of their local council? The BSA receives enough bad publicity and I'm sure their council would not be happy of how those boys represented Scouting.

so in my lame accounting professional world. It drives me crazying seeing grown professional adults texting on their phone under the table like they are still in high school.

1. if you need/want to text just do it.
2. if you feel the need to hide it you prolly should put your phone down and pay the fuck attention.

What Really Grinds Your Gears?

Airports alone could fill about 20 pages here. One of my personal grinders is:

People seated in Zone 4 who huddle and block the gate entrance when pre-boarding or Zone 1 begins.

the whole zone thing is a joke, if you are checked in you cant miss your plane. why would anyone be in a rush to get on a sardine can with continuously recycled germ filled air only to sit again.

I just wait until the whole damn thing is boarded then get up and get on.

Why the hell can't airlines board the last rows first and work to the front? That alone would cut boarding time in half so I'm not waiting for some fumble fvck to dick around in aisle 4 while the other 200 people boarding are trying to get to the back.

20 pages on airports might be low.

I was at a four way stop with 3-4 cars backed up from all directions. It's my turn to go. I pull out and almost hit a bicyclist who came screaming through the cars. I laid on the horn. He yells back "REALLY?". My wife replies back, "YES, REALLY, OBEY THE STOP SIGN". Several drivers waved in appreciation.

People riding bikes on narrow, windy two lane roads when there is a 20 mile American Tobacco Road bike path with trail heads less than a mile away.

I'm amazed there isn't a story daily about some road rage idiot plowing into a group of 50 bicyclists hogging the road during rush hour. Off hours or off the road you morons.

A couple months ago I saw a cop pull over a bicyclist for running a red light in Georgetown. It made me happy all over.

That was exactly my thought. I thought the adult would tell the kid to move or give up his seat himself to set an example. Instead he did the opposite. I don't expect pre-teens to inherently know the right thing to do in social situations... and it's the job of the adults to provide leadership/guidance.

They all had this patch:

I don't know about troop number, I think I saw an adult with a "20" or something on his arm. How many troops are there and how many people are in a troop?

i tell people all the time the space under the seat is the least utilizated storage on the plane.

I laugh my ass off every time they get on the speaker system and tell people they are going to have to start checking carry-ons.

coats, purses, small bags have no business in the overhead.

A red patch with a number is the Pack No. There is another badge on the opposite shoulder that states the Den.

cub_uniform_basics_all3.JPG

There might be more than one "Pack 20" in that council as there are multiple dens, but I doubt it. It should be easy to contact that particular council and tell them what happened. That is totally unacceptable behavior. I am a den leader and I would never allow my kids to act like that or talk to an adult that way.
