DMV. It's the government's Wal Mart.

I would hate working there... my wife and I had to set an apt. last week for our registration (DMV made some error)... we walked up with a smile, as nice as could be because I have worked **** jobs with bad customers before, so i can imagine how it gets...

well within thirty seconds we are lipping off to the person behind the counter because she was just a **** parade from the word go... terrible attitude... yet, now that I'm not in the moment, I feel her pain.

I feel bad for the employees too. They are almost all alike too. You can feel they hate their jobs.

Working bad service jobs shifted my views of the world 180... Without derailing the thread, when I hear people complain about certain social issues, I often ask if they have ever worked x,y, or z jobs... almost without fail they have not...

just a little observation of mine.

Any version of the following phrase:

"How about that [/insert recruits name] guy"

If you care that much about a short derailment in a recruits thread, then post something to get it back on track (ie an article, tweet, cool pic, whatever) or use the report post function and let the mods do their job. It doesn't even ever stop the derailment, just points out the obvious.

Not to mention... It's the offseason, so it gets annoying seeing the same phrase 20 times a day. Short derailments in the offseason are to expected, since there isnt a ton of team info.

i can't stand that you can't go to the last page of a thread from the home page

I must be missing your point... just click the little blue arrow next to the last poster's name... it takes you to the last page...

You just taught me, and probably NDdomer2, something new. Thanks

How in the hell did you guys go a combined 5 years without figuring that out?

Did you also not figure the repping thing out yet? If you have... then rep Acamp already!

Pet peeve of mine as well. And when I look to see who's complaining, it's almost always a poster who contributes virtually nothing to the board. If you aren't a regular contributor, kindly choke on your complaints, as$hole.

My apologies...

My post wasn't directed at you, or Irishnuke, as you guys definitely contribute around here. There's a time and a place for getting derailed threads back on track; though it's tough to do so tactfully, so bringing it to a mod's attention is usually a better idea.

Here's the scenario I'm talking about: a couple of regulars are bickering over something in a recruit's thread, and some random poster with a sub-200 post count quotes them both and responds with, "IE is falling apart. This site used to be a good place for recruiting news."

Passive aggressive. Overly dramatic. And coming from someone who invariably doesn't have a recruiting subscription, so he has absolutely no standing to complain about a lack of relevant news.

Or the guy who only logs on to complain about how we organize threads by topic and merge redundant threads together, etc. Unless you're a contributing member of the community, f*ck off with the complaints.

I liked the old mods better. These new guys are running this site into the ground....

Yikes.... You've singled out 9/10 of the IE community, brah... Should it be a prerequisite to join IE to have a premium recruit account or just stfu......? Unless, you have over 200 posts...........your words, not mine.

I thought about posting this a few weeks ago. It really grinded my gears until....

...ACamp was sent from heaven and dropped this nugget. Thanks!

NDWorld247 and TTownTommy. It is ok. I have been on here for 2 years now and never knew that until today.

LA - There are 20K+ members on this forum now. It is impossible to get along/agree with everyone, and some here would say that is the what makes the site what it is (there are many other positives). However, if the 20 or so individuals who want things how it used to be Google makes "hangouts" now. There is nothing stopping anyone from creating their own group. Don't take this the wrong way, i.e. "I want you to leave IE" because that is the furthest from the truth. You are as much of this site as anyone else (at least in my two years here).

Personally, if the growth of the site is dependent of the success of the football team, I choose growth of the site.

EDIT: Since I have posted this we have somehow lost ~2K in members :S

I guess my post was poorly worded. I have no beef with those who try to keep threads on topic, who don't have a high post count, or who don't have recruiting subscriptions. My issue is with those who complain about the site without having invested any time or effort in it.

It's like the story of the Little Red Hen. If you didn't help make the bread, I don't really give a sh!t if you like the taste.
