The twats that leave their carts out in the middle of the parking lot at stores. Walk your lazy ass over to the rack and put the cart away with the rest. You are not that special.

I used to pour concrete for this guy while I was in school years ago and he would never clean up after himself after we ate lunch at a fast food joint. He was otherwise clean and orderly and would clean up after he ate on the job site so it struck me as kinda bizarre. The guy was total maniac - always good to me but totally nuts - so one day I just asked him as respecfully as I could why he never threw his trash away when we were at a restaurant.

He told me he's "not a trained monkey" and went on to explain that he paid for food and service and it's on them clean it up. It's part of the deal. "That's a fuckin job for someone to earn a living, and I'm not giving them my labor for free" he bellowed as he stormed out of the place.

He said the same thing about carts when we got to the car.

I actually see his point but I just can't leave a cart in a parking lot.

I’m with you on this one……however, the laziness of others worked to my advantage recently. We had finished shopping at the local Costco and as I was pushing my cart to the corral, I saw another cart on the way (no cars around it) so I grabbed it as well. To my delight, the dufus who had left it in the middle of the parking lot also left a gallon of Jim Beam in the cart. If that ain’t karma, I don’t know what is……that gallon has come in handy on game day!!!

Hot take....both the lady and the guy filming grind my gears. Lady should have returned the cart....right thing to do and a little exercise clearly wouldn't hurt. But this turd sandwich filming is clearly instigating. Look, people know when they have done something against norms. But the moment you approach them with a video camera and magnet, what do you think will happen? It's trolling, plain and simple. At some point, someone will get hurt all because some smellfungus feels empowered by a camera and social media follows.

Right. I have to remind myself of this often, because inconsiderate drivers really piss me off. I'll often get cut off by someone in a shitty car driving like a total asshole on my way home from the office, and my first instinct is to rage and flip them off. But it could easily be a line cook or a dish washer who just got off a 12 hour shift of taking nonstop crap at work, and he's venting a little on the road because he has very little control at his job. You just never know what strangers are going through.

I'm at the local Kroger who has installed those gizmo's on the wheels of the shopping cart so they lock up if any of the "don't give a shit" crowd try to take them out of the parking lot. I'm in the store when the wheel of my cart locks up. No clerk around to unlock the wheel. What a pain trying to push a full cart back to the front of the store so I can get it unlocked.

Very true. This reminds me of a story I've told all my kids several times over the years. It was from a magazine or newspaper article that I read in the 70's, IIRC. A guy wrote that while traveling for work, he stopped at a restaurant for lunch. His waitress gave him absolutely terrible service. She forget to bring him any utensils, she got his order wrong, she was sorta short and rude to him and acted like every request he made angered her. She was clearly off her game and in a foul mood. Despite all this, he left her an exceedingly generous tip. As he was walking to his car, the waitress chased him down in the parking lot and asked him why he'd left her such a generous tip after she'd been so rude to him and given him such lousy service. He told her he'd done it because it seemed like maybe she was just having a bad day and he didn't want to add on to that, and thought maybe someone doing something nice for her would help. The waitress then burst into tears and told him that her husband was terminally ill and no longer able to work, and she was having to work two jobs to support them and they were still struggling. Not only was she facing the loss of her husband, but her house too. Her pregnant daughter had recently been abandoned by her husband and had to move back home. Bills were piling up, she was overworked, her husband was dying, and she was just completely overwhelmed by everything. You never know what someone else is going through.

My wife gets on me for tipping too well after having received shitty service when we're out to eat... I usually tell her that maybe they're off their game because they have a bunch of other shitheads at their other tables, or maybe it's just an off day, or maybe they weren't paying enough attention to our table because we're pretty laid back, and they might be dealing with high-maintenance folks elsewhere.

You never know what they're dealing with, so throw them a good tip and hope it turns their day around or gives a pick-me-up for the next table.

I get not wanting to get stuck behind some dip going 50 in the far left lane but when it's heavy traffic and there's literally nowhere to go... calm the fuck down and get off my ass.

Also, Texas drivers, well at least in El Paso, have absolutely zero concept of letting someone by. If there is a stop light and they are going straight, the standard rule is they will be so far over to the right a motorcycle couldn't get by let alone a car trying to turn right... in So Cal people get shot over that shit... get over to the left and let those turning right get on with their day... zero concept of that out here.

Over here we've got people trying to turn left from the street while straddling 2 lanes, effectively making the street 1 lane for several minutes.

In Texas, or at least east Texas, people will pull over and drive on the shoulder to allow you to pass on two-lane roads. That's pretty considerate. Only place I've ever seen that regularly done.

Was about to make the same comment. Have never seen that done anywhere else.

El Pasoans love to say they’re not a Texas city,… so yeah. Maybe just a EP thing

So last week I bought a high-priced item on EBay,... it's been four-plus days now, no shipping update, no communication, nothing... dude. If this were a book or something for like 10 bucks I'd be like whatever... but this was an 800 dollar tech item. Let me know what's going on!!!!!!! I would have loved to have gone Amazon or other avenues but it wasn't a realistic option

People tend to unconsciously compare EBay to Amazon but forget that your typically dealing with individuals and not companies. Amazon has some strict guidelines that must be adhered to where EBay is more relaxed. But I get what you're saying. Communicate! My wife sells Barbie's on EBay and she makes sure things get shipped within a couple of days at the latest.

The wife decided she wants to get a new car. We start looking online. Within a matter of minutes, the phone starts ringing off the hook, emails coming pouring in and text messages start. These guys are relentless.

Isn't it a terrible time to buy a car right now? Every where I have looked they have cars marked up by 4k or more

Great time to trade one in if you have a car not being driven...

Terrible time to buy. Wait another year or two until the chip shortage is over, when they've over-compensated their stock and have luxury trim vehicles they need to dump.

I have been trying to buy three company vehicles for three weeks now. The automotive folks are absolutely raising the prices on everything currently. It's insane what they are wanting for basic vehicles. Our fleet company can't even get any decent prices.

Especially if you have a lease expiring - make sure to check that residual value. Someone the other day had $10k equity in a freaking Honda Pilot coming off of a 3 year lease. I suspect lease residuals are way up too so new leases may make more sense than a new purchase.

I think inflation eats up any benefit from the glut but I like where your head is on the glut prediction.

We had stopped at a Honda dealer last week and they weren’t selling above the sticker. She has a 2016 Accord with low miles and no signs of wear. They are offering $17-$18 for it. She paid $18 for it when she bought it. Since she doesn’t drive more than about 5K miles a year we’re thinking about leasing.
