My concern is I don't think Georgia has to change much, do what they do until we stop them. Maybe we do but it will be a different method from our norm YTD.

We on the other hand, will have to make changes, offensively and defensively so the burden is on us.

(I'd like to see Bo Bauer give the RB's a little to think about. :) )

True, if we can't stop their Plan A, we're going to lose badly. But if we can force them to pass, then suddenly the match-up advantages flip, and we've got the upper hand. We're not out-gunned across the board.

Against both UL and NM, our offense started slow vs obviously inferior opponents, and our defensive looks were painfully vanilla the entire time. That indicates that Long and Lea have been looking ahead to the Georgia game since the beginning of fall camp. Lea's one of the best in the business, and Long has had flashes of brilliance, so we may be able to make up for our lack of an interior running game and our young LB corps schematically.

Combine that with Kelly's solid record against ranked opponents on the road at night (ignoring Stanford of course), and I expect that we'll surprise some people in Athens. Whether that surprise is "eeking out a narrow victory" or simply "preventing Georgia from covering the spread" is an open question, but I'm strangely optimistic about our chances.

Well said. Seemed pretty obvious this is what happened on Saturday with the offense, especially. Once they opened up the playbook it was game over.

My only hesitancy is that it feels like we've previously said that we're holding back and it usually turns out that actually, no that was just our team.

This made me laugh. Probably harder than I should, but it had a comedic delivery.

I am confident the coaches have held back waiting for Georgia.

I'm just not sure it will matter if ND's base O can't run the ball and the base D can't stop the run against Louisville and New Mexico.

Also true, but that hasn't happened under "CEO" Kelly who hired Elko as his DC and handed the offense over to Long. We've seen Long dismantle some very good defenses, and we know Lea is capable of dialing up some nasty blitzes.

I agree that Georgia should be favored and that their rushing attack v. our interior defense is a mismatch for us. But that's not an insuperable obstacle. If our coordinators are as good as we think they are, we should look like we belong on the field with Georgia. Probably won't win, but we shouldn't get embarrassed either.

ND is 15-0 when I'm out of the country. I have a free weekend if any of you Rich Uncle Pennybags want to send me out of town. Just saying

Would we really have to go that far to escape the SEC Twitter attacks? Plus, I think Wooly said anything past Jupiter's for the poor's.

Alpha Centauri is minimum safe distance. The crowing from SEC fanbois if we get exposed again will flood the solar system.

I'll send you $30. That should get you to Nuevo Laredo even if you're driving Uncle Earl's F-150 fSoIll Cornwagon. If you've got a Honda Accord you can make it home without selling a kidney to an organ vendor.

No can do. Just checked Boost Mobile and they have no towers on AC for pre-paid customers.

Unfortunately nothing I have seen the first two weeks has me believing the Irish can keep this one close. UGA 38-10. Book doesn’t look sharp and our slow developing runs and vertical passing game aren’t conducive to our personnel. My only hope is the Irish staff was playing possum with the offensive and defensive play calling the first two weeks.

ND will continually throw on 1st and 2nd down and run on 3rd and long.... everyone is confused if a third grader is calling the plays or an actual college coordinator... I see the game going similar to Clemson game last year.

UGA - 35
ND - 0

The Irish keep it interesting early but the Dog depth starts to show midway through the third. Due to the humidity and the lack of depth, the Irish develop more cramps than a Women's March, and the Dogs pull out of reach in the early fourth quarter. Jawja wins 34-20.

ND's bad start of the game will be too much to overcome - GA will look good from the opening kickoff.

I’ve got a sneaky feeling about this one and get the vibe Kelly is calmly confident. I’ll go with ND 28-24. I think we work the middle of the field with Kmet/McKinley much more than we’ve shown and run behind the strong side of our line (Hainsey Kramer) like OMM pointed out. Book has to bring his A-Game.

Go Irish

28-24 Georgia.
I think we sell out and play better than expected vs. the run, force them to throw and create a couple turnovers that lead to points for us. That keeps it close. But we struggle to move the ball consistently, especially on the ground, and they eventually wear down our front seven and close out a tough win. We lose but, again, show we can hang with anyone.

I'm calling It Nd 29 UG 27. I don't even know why I'm expecting an unbiased Officiating crew but, If we can get some calls that are the way that a right call should be made, we win by 2 TD's. If this game is officiated the same way that last years Clemson was or 2012 Alabama's was we are In for a long night thanks to the demoralization of kids who can't fight 2 front 7's.
If we lose It's going to be another Bullshit call by the officials. I'll bet all my heart on this.
Our non-conference affiliation has cost us some odd gamesmanship. I'll see Us win before I die tho. BET!

I'm kind of with you here. I think he's kind of just average.

Sometimes he puts together a brilliant game plan and really impresses, a la Stanford and Syracuse 2018. Other times he just leaves me scratching my head. Last week, for example, before we went off late 2nd Q, the rollout of Book on the shadow of our goal line to the short side of the field and a jet sweep to Lenzy on the short side as well are just a couple of examples.

Also, this running game has looked abysmal and it took him almost 6 quarters of football to figure it out by adjusting to the shovel pass as an extension to the running game. We have consistently gotten shut down on 3rd and short against L'Ville and fricken UNM.

He shows flashes but I don't think he's a world beater like a lot of ND fans want to believe he is.

Wait a minute, is this ACamp's NM account?

You guys should get together at Chope's in La Mesa and celebrate the 35 point beatdown. You can thank me later on the Chope's recommendation.
