Try deleting your cookies in your Internet Options menu. Not guaranteed to work but it's worth a shot. I am not getting any issues, for once.

Is it just me or is IE destroying anyone else's CPU? Within seconds of opening IE my laptop starts overheating like I'm rendering 4k video or something.

It's also been ultra laggy on mobile.

No? You running pop-up blocker? Maybe you're getting some ads. Does it do it on any other site?

Whoh....immediately after I left this page I got a pop up that Kaspersky Protection blocked a Dangerous URL on this site. Said it was apparently a phishing URL pointed to: thaitradeusa.com

http://www.[insert site above]/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Tuff-girls-line.jpg

I don't suggest going to that location for obvious reasons, but maybe it'll help the mods track down what ad is linked to it?

When I open a window to repy I kept getting Website NOT SECURE. I'm getting that advisory right now. I first noticed it yesterday.

In all the years I've been on IE, I've never seen that before.

Can we make it secure?

I use a laptop at work, and it's been working its ass off whenever I'm on IE... the fan is nearly constantly working. I've got Varsity Club privileges, but certain ads still appear, so I just installed AdBlocker to see if it helps.

What else from the website could be causing a computer to work so hard to run it? Seems like we might need a website cleanup, complete with new security ticket.

Seems like the owners have kind of been absentee lately, though, so we may need Pham to speak up on our behalf.

OR

Is it time to start IE 2.0?

Who can set up a message board website lol?

This won't help when the security certificate is expired.

One of the issues with with expired certificate is this site will allow viruses, malware, etc. to get loaded to the site or use the site as a driveby. Mods do need to address this asap.

I let Pham know about the current issue with the certificate.

I also tried finding the site owner information, so I could maybe get in touch with them directly to ask them to be a bit more proactive in maintaining the site on the back end for us, but I could only find links back to "GoDaddy"

This. You mods do fabulous work around here, but it's a bit frustrating that the owner is MIA or not engaged seemingly at all here. The security certificate is the latest example. If I had the time and resources I would setup a new site, but sadly I do not. Maybe with a joint effort we (as a community) can accomplish this though? Shaggy Texas abandoned ship earlier this year and created Surly Horns, they're running like nothing ever happened. In fact, the site is smoother and running updated code so it's actually improved.

Jumping ship would force us to lose access to all the sick burns bestowed over the years.

It would also lose members (such as myself) that delve in and out on here over time.

A new site, I fear, would be like the 5 posters currently on here who consist of about 85% of the posts. It would be like giving koon an open forum to just koon all day and night long. No thanks.

IrishTP. He had it all set up. Maybe if we all migrate we can get our PTH Friday videos again

I have sent a message to the Pham man and stressed the concerns of the posters here. Hoping we can get a good response from the owners.

another issue I've noticed, is that when you click on the "go to last post", it does not always take me to the last post. it's happened more and more the last few days. it takes me to the first post on the last page, instead of the last post. not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

Surly Horns migrated in March and they have 700,000 posts since then. It's not that big a deal for posters to move locations, it's getting everything setup that's the issue. We're gonna scare far more posters away with an expired security. There's a lot more than 5 active posters here.

I agree, losing the content would kind of stink, but threads grow old and die. Very few threads are reflected back on once they start accumulating dust. Someday the site will die regardless, might be better to start fresh now while we can and this time we can control updates and security issues better if an active owner/operator is present.

Now it looks like all the clovers/gifts/etc are not linking correctly, just a bunch of broken images destroying the site. Is this a result of the owner trying to fix things, or more things just breaking down?

[EDIT] Disregard, now they seem to be fixed.

[EDIT#2] Nope, broken again.

Anytime -- thanks for bringing it to our attention. Fix should be in but please let us know if any issues are lingering after a refresh.

The security certificate is refreshed? If so, it's still showing Not Secure in the browser.

I'm down with moving. The owners seem to be detached and not ND fans, so not a loyalty issue. As long as it's a better site, and it doesn't turn into a split board. I'm OK with the libs staying.... I hate losing all the past player profiles. Wonder if there's any issues with bringing content (that you have posted) with you.

In the midst of an 8-0 season, THE place to come to talk Irish football, and the place has been jacked up for at least 4 days.

Owner is like:

giphy.gif

I'm waiting for it to crash big time during a game....
If that happens, we should all wage a hostile takeover of DomerDomain until a new board can rise from the ashes.

Someone should start a go fund me lol

Conspiracy theory time...

People at NDN came together to buy this site. They then decided to slow play our demise by not attending to simple maintenance and such.

I'm now told that the site never had a security certificate (i.e., the site was never a https site). It looks like a few browsers recently started flagging all non-https sites but this site isn't any less secure than it had been.

I'll reach out to the owners again re: the busted icons.

Is anyone still experiencing CPU issues after clearing your cache?

yes
busted icons and still cpu rev (not all the time)

and.. two issues when using the "go to last post" arrow icon
-from the main page, the go to last post icon takes me to the top of the page on the last page, instead of the last post.
-when i search for a thread, from the search page when i select the go to last post icon, it says
No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator
