I could pick up WWE in a couple of hours as Game Stop here in town is releasing it at six with Halo... but I drove by my local gamestop and there is already a line of people (~250) wrapped around the building (obviously all for Halo), just like with the Star Wars movie talk we all had... screw that noise, I'll wait and pick it up after work tomorrow....

Soooooooooooooooo... video games.

I picked up the Final Fantasy X remaster. Mostly to nostalgia on the music and cheesy dialog.

I got this too. I enjoyed it. Dominated blitzball.

I remember dodging lightning to unlock a character's final weapon...100+ lightning dodges in a row without a hit. Ugh.

I can't believe you actually did that. I'm impressed! I really hated that part.

Haha, that's cool. I thought I missed it as it got towards the end.

How is Syndicate? The reviews have been pretty positive. Did you play Unity?

About to play for the first time now.

I played a few hours of unity and really liked the stealth mechanics sneaking around inside of buildings, but didn't get terribly far.

ACIV was the last one I fully played. I loved it. The Naval battles were awesome and the uninhabited island ruins were awesome to explore. I also really liked the ship battle mini games. Best one since ACII IMO.

I really only bought this game so I could climb Big Ben. Only kind of kidding.

Oh yeah, spent a ton of time playing Blitzball, although I'm not exactly sure why now looking back at it. I was obsessed with getting the best players and building them up. I remember hanging onto Keepa from the Aurochs because for some odd reason he explodes between levels 90-99. He goes from being a okay goalie to a super shooter in a very short time, he ends up with the highest overall shooting stat. Never did level the team that high though.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I pretty recently was wasting big parts of the day playing leagues and tournaments so I could get a few rare items. Seems pretty crazy now.

Haha the only time I ever showed up early at a release for a game was back when NCAA14 was coming out. I figured there would be a wait, and I wanted to be one of the first to play online and start dominating people, try to jump into the online rankings early and stay there.

I showed up at 10pm to claim my spot, maybe play in the release-night tournaments that they would have before the new game dropped... only to find that the store had dropped the security cages and was closed for the night. I caught a worker coming out and he told me that there wasn't enough interest for a midnight release that year, and that I should have gotten a call about the midnight release being cancelled.

I cancelled my reserve the next day, asked for a refund, and picked it up from Target. I was bitter.

I've done midnight releases for NCAA and FIFA but only when they were released along side games that don't create lines wrapped around buildings...

I'm not sure if I'll ever do a midnight release again. The only one's I'd consider are new system releases and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Even then, I've got a day job where i wouldn't be able to play the game immediately after I get it anyways.

I thought about going to Walmart for Halo tonight at midnight. They usually don't have a big release at the Walmart by me, but they'll get the game out of the shipping boxes once midnight hits if you ask. I watched some gameplay footage earlier and got excited. But, I remembered that I'm an adult and just used all of my vacation time for a honeymoon.

I WILL do a midnight release and take vacation the next day if they ever release another NCAA though.

There's a way to get around that. You put in a vacation day that day ahead of time (Or put in for the whole week if it's a big one). I've already got a few days off in November for Fallout 4.

I am so damn excited to get Syndicate. I'm just trying to stay disciplined and finish Witcher 3 before I get Syndicate. I'm just about half way through the main story line of Witcher 3, so I dont have too much longer. lol. Just another 30-40 hours.

That is ridiculous lol. I don't know if I could stay invested in a time sink like that. I tried Skyrim a few years ago and couldn't stay invested. I like the idea of leveling up, strategizing upgrades, and even just mindlessly grinding sometimes (ala side missions in ACIV; mind-numbing to stop at every small island and open the chests, but sometimes therapeutic), but Skyrim felt like too much work and not enough enjoyment early on.

I heard Witcher is even more expansive, so I can't imagine that many hours invested lol. Assassin's Creed and GTA are about as expansive as I can get without feeling overwhelmed.

The Witcher is so freakin awesome. The world is just so alive, and theres so much going on in it. I got it back at the end of July and put a decent amount of hours into it, then I got married in the middel of August, and I am just now getting back into it this last week. The weather here in Chicago is finally turning to shyt, so I figure its the appropriate time to start the winter gaming season.

I red boxed the Mad Max game the other weekend. Its pretty solid actually. I'll be buying that one once it goes down to $20.

AC Syndicate is next, and then onto SWBF.

Yeah, an AC game is enough to keep me busy since I play NCAA on the side still, but with Halo out and the fact that I preordered SWBF, I don't know what to do with myself.

If I played games like I used to, it wouldn't be an issue. I guess I'll just have to force myself through AC as quick as I can so I can get Halo and play that until Battlefront is out. What a nightmare.

WWE 2k16 is a major upgrade, did not let me down... only problem thus far is no 4 man and larger elimination match in any form other than six man elimination chamber... oh well.

I will say this to the person biting my avatar style... Piper was the greatest formula heel... meaning he did what everyone else did before and after him but did so better... nothing new or exciting, totally thoughtless and formula driven... THE People's Heel did what had never been done before, setting a completely new standard that has never been met,...he done changed the game.

Syndicate starts a bit slow (like most AC games do) but once you get the longshot it becomes super fun. The thing is a game changer, and it makes it feel even more like the Arkham games. Downside is I don't think they can go back to not having the longshot.
