Yes, that 2012 ND team was not nearly as good as Clemson is this year. QB difference is glaring, and we were not close to as athletic and speedy as we are now. And we had zero depth.

In my opinion, that ND '12 team played way above their heads and was led by a group of seniors that bought into Kelly's system and style. They were not going to lose to a team that was not Bama, but not for pure talent reasons.

Just my opinion though. But don't think I didn't enjoy the ride.

Can't disagree with this as we had the most decorated collegiate footballer ever leading a stout d.

I still think we take.Clemson 7/10 games and by all measures Clemson has taken it to each opponent they have played for four quarters except us.

Def think Clemson is very good and that we are just as good if not better. Just can't turn the ball over on the road and expect to win. Turnovers and explosive plays win games.

So if Clemson is that good that they are better than our 2012 team and our current team is as good as Clemson. We've concluded that this team is as good as our 2012 squad?

Not sure I can agree with that. They were undeafeated and at one point #1 in the country. Best defense in the country. That was the best ND team, results, we've seen in over two decades.

I don't agree. I think the 2012 team was good. Not great. Teo was great. Otherworldly. Tuitt and Nix..good. But the offense needed saving several times. As also said the depth was less.

This offense this is the best we have seen under Kelly. Defense not great but keeping games manageable and doing their jobs. From all aspects including depth and productivity I think this team is better than the 2012 team. That team making it to the championship was a bit premature IMO.

Here is what I think. I think the 2012 Defense is far way better than the 2015 Defense. The deference is we had a pass rush in 2012 but the funny thing is that the depth at DB was a major concern. The 2015 offense is the best offense I think Kelly has had at ND far above the best. Could be even better in 2016!

Not to mention this year special teams has been the best in the Kelly Era. Overall, I would go with this team being better from a depth and athletic standpoint, but that team had great leadership and would beat this team if the game was close. 2012 team knew how to win games if they kept it close into the 4th.
