Website Problems

My complaint is that Tapatalk will sometimes "lie" and not bring up unread threads if you haven't viewed any recently. It's still a small complaint though

I just use the "NEW POSTS" tab at the top, but you can also use "UNREAD," or "SUBSCRIBED," or "FORUMS," or "PARTICPATED"

Are you logged in? It does that to me if I'm not logged in.
People who are logged in see a different number of posts per page than people who aren't. So a logged in user might see a thread as 20 pages but a logged out user might see it as 50 shorter pages. When you click "last page," it takes you to the 20th page, which isn't the last page for a non logged in person.

Different problem: There's a bad link or something in the Theology thread. It doesn't load on Tapatalk.

When I check the site on my phone, I get pop ups on certain threads that make me have to close the site. Certain threads are simply unusable. Anybody else have this?

Anything non-football takes me to a free gift card. Hooray! Over and over again....
Happens on my IPhone, IPad Air, and IPad mini. Never happens on my laptop. I'm always logged in.

Common problem for most. I think if you are a varsity club dude you don't have the problem.

I've given up IE on those devices for the most part.

I definitely suggest tapatalk for those trying to use mobile. I got it for either free or very cheap. But it's worth it regardless. If you have other forums you follow it can work with those as well. It's really great.

I still don't like this thing about people being redirected. That's less than ideal.

Just got Tapatalk per your recommendations and I freaking hate it. I have no idea how to use it and the threads/posts don't seem to correlate perfectly with what's on the site. It's confusing and I can't rep anyone. I'm getting pissed.

Really? No reps is the only negative IMO

I'm certain that Wooly not being able to use the Reps feature will be applauded by several (unnamed) people.

I however just positively repped him. ... just because. (well, I will once i spread it around a little to evade the IE robot)

What's confusing about it? Sign in and look at unread threads is all I do. I have to refresh the forum tab for all of them to appear sometimes, but that's all. I don't rep enough for me to care about that aspect.

Does this mean you'll be posting less? Thank God.

Wooly is like every user whenever we have to do an upgrade to a system. Bitch and moan at first, then after they get used to it, they like it and don't want to go back to the old system.

Sherm knows what I'm talking about.

FYI for the mods and not to copy wooly but.... this is so bad on my iPhone that I cant even open numerous threads even when I am not logged in. It has made a majority of the threads I visit, unvisitable. Works fine on PC though.

I am continuously redirected to those popups when on my phone so I am basically unable to access or view my favorite threads. Multiple attemtps to access the thread is met with a redirect everytime.

Same here. I can't get into the Game of Thrones or any other off-topic thread without being redirected. It's been this way for about 2 weeks now. Ridiculous.

If everyone would stop posting, I bet the mods would get it fixed quickly. Hard to sell advertising on a site when no one visits.

Well, if you accept your $100 gift card already, maybe they'll stop reminding you. ;)

Unless things have changed drastically since I was a mod, software programming is NOT a mod function.

And again unless things have changed drastically it is NOT an Administrator function.

The mods can report it to the Administrator who in turn reports it to the Owners/Owners Technical Support and then has to wait for their action.

So continue to report the problem(s), threaten to go elsewhere, if you choose, or reduce activity (Irish#1 approach) but lay off the mods. It's beyond their authorized access abilities. They ride herd on the posters but they don't program the software.

My apologies if you think I was directing any comments towards the mods or admin as that wasn't my intention. I wrote "mods" when I meant "owners". I know there is nothing mods or admins can do, but report it on up.

The Stars in Recruit Threads aren't appearing like they used to as a yellow star. This was reported in the Kevin Austin Thread Me2SouthBend. I checked on Recruit Threads I opened as a mod back in 2011 and found the same issue. I'm using Chrome Version 59.0.3071.115 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Is there a newer HTML code being used that does not recognize the older format?

I just updated my Chrome to Version 60.0.3112.78 (Official Build) (64-bit) and now ALL the stars are gone. I'm using a laptop with Windows 7 Pro.

(On my iPad running Safari they appear as a small blue filled square with a white question mark in the center.)

10 minutes ago in the previous version of Chrome the yellow stars we used to have, I forget the code, was it [s:s:s:] ???, appeared as a bigger rectangular box (about a 1/2 inch square) with a inverted curve similar to a bell curve and the area below the curve was a light shade of green.

Now I show a blank space. I don't see the blank box Me2SouthBend commented about.
