I saw on Twitter that they are only saying rain in the morning and it will be cleared up by kickoff. Hopefully the rain won't hurt anything.

Not sure if this was posted but 247 says '15 DT Simeon Lane is making an unofficial visit this weekend? He's a four-star DT from Cincinnati St. Xavier (Justin Hilliard et al go/went there).

Simeon Lane

I was just perusing Ohio players (wondering if there are studs from Catholic schools Notre Dame isn't after) and saw that. No clue if it's real...

I honestly hope the weather scares the **** out of SC.... one can hope

I definitely think poor weather favors us over the surfer boys, but I'm thinking more from a perspective of the recruits being able to be outside and just enjoy themselves.

Any guesses on how many commit this weekend?

There's a lot of talent in those Cincy schools. There's a pretty strong ND presence among them, but also lots of Ohio State pull too. It would be great to put a wall around the city like the way O$U does around certain other parts of Ohio.

From Tashon Smallwood's thread:

Not going to be on campus this weekend per Ms. Hickey

Apparently USC has a surf team. I think I'm going to email Swarbrick to see if ND will offer me a schoolie for surfing (grad school for engineering or architecture would be cool). I would totally burn those kooks for Old Notre Dame.

Now that I think about it offering surfing would be a great recruiting tool as well in my opinion. Who doesnt want to learn to surf? Might help with that gigantic kid from Hawaii. Build the worlds largest indoor wave pool or standing wave machine, bring in a couple pallets of sand bags, throw in a couple of them fake palm trees and bingo he's all Irish. I'm sure Smallwood would be back on the plane in a heartbeat as well because everyone in Fresno loves going to Avila Beach for spring break. It'd be like spring break for him.

Anyhow, carry on with the hate.

Surfing is so overrated. Skiing/Snowborading/Wakeboarding >>> Surfing. I guess surfing behind a boat is fun. The actual thing isn't for me. Too much waiting around.

**Slice of life.

Does anyone know when the recruits arrive?

Do they get there today so they can attend the pep rally?

Is it different for every player, or does the itinerary spell out that they all arrive on the same day, ~ the same time?

Not sure how these large weekend work, but it'd be awesome if they were on campus this afternoon through Sunday. I imagine there's a buzz around campus, especially this afternoon.

I would imagine a large portion of these recruits are busy tonight(they play HS football!).

There may be a few that can arrive today if they have byes, but I would guess most arrive tomorrow AM.

I've always wondered about logistics for weekends like this.

If you're recruiting for USC that is one thing: there is a huge airport 15 minutes from the stadium and a virtually limitless number of hotel rooms throughout the area.

But South Bend is not Los Angeles (BREAKING). Traveling fans of both teams book hotel rooms in SB and surrounding towns months, sometimes a year in advance. With such a large number of official visitors, how does ND have access and the timing to coordinate last second plans by recruits? Even though it has more hotel rooms than other towns of its size, that number is still rather small, and the number or really nice hotels is finite.

And for all the 2015 guys, where in the hell are they staying when they decide within the last two weeks that they are going to come this weekend? And how are HS juniors and families all affording to decide within the last few weeks to buy loding and RT airfare to SBN or Chicago? Do high school programs raise money for their top athletes to take visits like these? Is that even permissable?

Is there a thread on here somewhere that has looked at this in detail? I'm fascinated by this.
