That kid's underrated.

But I imagine he has potential.

And a high ceiling.

Can he play a role on Special Teams right away or should he be redshirted?

Can he bounce a ping pong ball off a ceiling, two walls, a floor and a head into a beer cup?

*Does he have any close family members with health issues? (Too soon and/or too cruel?)

USC's committed to doing this the right way. They will respect US and California labor laws and not pay Tilford until he turns 16.

This is not USC related but not sure where to put it. UCLA has picked up commitments from 2 of the top 3 JuCo OT in the past week. Where is Bruin Steve to tell us they don't recruit JuCo players? I miss him.

Haha, the funniest is that the issue came up when we said that the difference between ND and other schools is that we can't recruit jucos to add instant depth in depth-chart emergencies, and Scuba Steve's rejoinder was that UCLA doesn't really recruit jucos either, except a couple times over the last few years when the depth chart was really thin at a couple of positions. LOL. That was exactly our point.

If your buddy Otis jumped off a cliff, would you?

That used to be a parental standby to elicit the begrudging answer, "No."

Yet from the "whatever you can do ridiculously I can do just as ridiculously file," UCLA has matched rival USC by offering a scholarship to an eighth grader, even though such a scholarship offer is utterly meaningless.

Sigh.

His name is Lindell Stone, and the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder just completed his eighth-grade year at Dawson Middle School in Southlake, Texas.

For my thoughts on this, merely read this post on USC offering receiver Nathan Tilford (Upland, Calif./Upland) and substitute "UCLA" where I type "USC."

The timing on this is amusing for us without a dog in the hunt, as I do believe some of our UCLA friends have been a bit hard on some of our USC friends about Lane Kiffin offering Tilford.

True, but this is now an article on SI.com. So I guess the news would be that the article from a week ago is now being quoted in another piece on SI. I for one, am not shedding tears that the story is "making the rounds".

I think you can consider this USC related....

Former USC Football Recruit Who Served Five Years For Rape Exonerated Because Accuser Admits Attack Never Happened

How freaking horrible/crazy is this? Can you imagine being in his shoes? It's people like Wanetta Gibson and Crystal Mangum who make me sick to my stomach. Make up stories/accusations for their own ends (or for no reason at all) and don't give a sh*t if it ruins the life of someone else. This kid could've been, at worst, getting a college education... and at best playing on Sundays... who knows now if he'll ever have a chance for either.

SMDH

This is back in the news again a bit. The woman who falsely accused this guy was sentenced to pay back $2.6 million back. I think she should have to serve the same amount of years he was put away for as well. But that's just me.

4.4 Coaching: The Trojans had the worst score in the coaching category of any team in the top 25, which was partly a reflection of USC's recent performance and partly a reflection of the questions surrounding Lane Kiffin's job security. "That whole program is in a 'prove-it' state for AD Pat Haden," Huard says. "And Lane is right there in the crosshairs. Haden didn't hire Kiffin, and Kiffin knows it."

for reference....saban was a 10, urban was 8.8, miles 8.2 and kelly was 8

It would be even more humorous if USC somehow didn't make his top 5.

Seriously. It's sickening to me that anyone could do this to someone, intentionally send him to jail for something he didn't do. She should be prosecuted for perjury or whatever they can get her for to the fullest extent of the law.

How does this actually work? If I was to owe someone 2.6 million dollars, no way in hell would I be able to pay that for a very very long time. Does that mean her wages will be garnished for as long as it takes to equal 2.6 million?

Wage garnishment is one option. If she owns any real estate, they could file a judgment lien against it. And if they know where she banks, they could levy her accounts as well.

Getting a judgment is only half of the battle. Collection is an entirely different ball game.

Yeah, I think.

My friend used to work as a restaurant manager while he was in school, and gradually he came to realize that the old guy he thought of as the "owner" of the restaurant didn't actually own anything in his own name; it was all in his wife's name. At some point my friend developed a close enough relationship with the guy to ask him about it, and the guy told my friend that he had accidentally killed a guy in a fight DECADES ago, and there was still a HUGE judgment against him. So, to avoid the government taking his property/income, he just held all property in his wife's name and dealt in cash as often as he could.

The point is, I doubt Banks will collect much of that 2.6 million. People find ways around it. That's why I hope they prosecute the accuser criminally.

On the other hand, if she's in jail, Banks DEFINITELY won't collect any of the judgment, because she won't earn anything.

Some real professionalism here from the USC 247 reporter Scott Schrader:

George Uko was offered after the morning session day 1 of the Rising Stars Camp a few years back and committed. UCLA fans had a s**tfest because SC had offered during the camp. What they failed to realize, while they had their petty s**tfest , is George was at home while the had their bitch session.

BTW this was in their 60 post thread about if they will offer Erik Brown or not. He is expected to know by tommorow.

EDIT: Also Jaylen Johnson apparently looked good at their camp today
