I didn't know where to post this but I read an article on ISD about the scholarship breakdown for '17. It mentioned that the coaches are looking to add a graduate transfer this year. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on possible candidates or which position they were looking at.

Bk said at his NSD presser he would be looking for a graduate transfer @ a skill position (probably a WR)

I highly doubt they're looking at WR's. I know we lost our starting 3, but the cupboard is pretty darn stocked and we have far more pressing needs.

perhaps when he said that he was not sure if Corey was coming back and he felt like a veteran presence was needed? I doubt he was talking about a running back

Were we actually considering him? I don't remember that. I thought he just decided on Bama. I don't believe that is the player the BK was referencing.

Not that I care one way or the other because I think the Irish will be more than fine at WR... but IF the staff adds a grad transfer WR and Dieter was not considered, then Dieter tears it up at Bama while the grad transfer that comes in does not... that will look pretty bad and send this board into a 3 day meltdown, crashing the servers at the home office in Lansing, MI.

Dieter would never make it at ND, because of his father. He could have 2,000 yards rec at Bama this year and it wouldn't be worth the hassle that comes with his father.

Be that as it may, it doesn't change message board perceptions. I hope he does go for 2000 yards this year. That means something is broke with the run game and Ridley is injured which means Bama sits out the playoffs.

Of course that just generates that many more questions as to why he's not in South Bend.

You haven't been here long enough to make that assertion, as it is dead wrong.

This board knows the Deiter family very well, and the veterans would quell even a sniff of a meltdown. Sure, you'd have a few babies that would lose it (like the one unnamed poster who flipped out and said ND should fire Denbrock and promote Alford, thus losing out on both Sanford AND Denson lol), but most people here get it.

Anthony Jennings transferring from LSU....didn't have the chest?

Anthony Jennings plans to transfer from LSU Tigers

BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU announced Thursday that quarterback Anthony Jennings intends to transfer after losing his starting job last year.

Jennings started 12 games as a sophomore in 2014. In all, he led the Tigers to a 9-4 record in 13 career starts, including LSU's Outback Bowl win over Iowa when he was a freshman playing in place of an injured Zach Mettenberger.

But Jennings lost the starting job to Brandon Harris last season. He ended up appearing in just two games and did not attempt a run or a pass.

"This is an opportunity for Anthony to put himself in a position to help another team have success," LSU coach Les Miles said in a release. "We wish him nothing but good fortune in the future and we appreciate all that he did while he was part of our program."

LSU said Jennings will remain at the university until he graduates this summer and then will transfer. Provided he completes his degree, he'd be eligible to play immediately under the graduate transfer rule.

The senior quarterback was not present for the media portion of either of LSU's first two spring practices.

Incumbent Harris will battle Purdue transfer Danny Etling and redshirt freshman Justin McMillan for playing time this spring. Signee Lindsey Scott will enter the competition this summer.

Jennings played as a change-of-pace quarterback behind Mettenberger in 2013, participating in nine games as a true freshman. After Mettenberger suffered a season-ending knee injury in the regular-season finale against Arkansas, Jennings took over and led the Tigers to a comeback victory. His 49-yard touchdown pass to Travin Dural with 1:15 to play capped a 99-yard touchdown drive that gave LSU a memorable 31-27 win.

In 2014, the offense was inconsistent throughout the year. The Tigers ranked 114th in the FBS in passing offense (162.9 yards per game) and Jennings was 92nd nationally in Total Quarterback Rating (46.1). Jennings completed 48.9 percent of his passes that season for 1,611 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Jennings was one of three players arrested last June after police say they entered an apartment in an effort to retrieve items that Jennings had reported stolen from his residence. He was suspended by the team but never charged by police and was ultimately reinstated before training camp.

"Anthony did a lot of really good things for our program," Miles said. "As a freshman, he came in for an injured Zach Mettenberger and led us to a last-minute win over Arkansas and then he helped us to eight wins the following year as a sophomore."
