The disparity between Michigan's goal line call in the fourth and Bama's was startling.

One creatively got a guy wide open and the other was a run into the center's asshole.

Bama’s playcalling early in the game was so familiar in how bad it was for a big game… trying to throw against a good defense right out of the gate, getting yourself behind the chains by abandoning what got you there.

But then it looked like Saban did what BK didn’t very often, which was get in Tommy’s ear and told him to get downhill. Bama’s first scoring drive should’ve loosened everything up, and it looked like Bama might be able to take control.

But Saban’s defense got bullied, and Tommy didn’t adjust quickly enough. Looked better after halftime… but then the fourth quarter was a disaster.

Tommy got no help from his OL (particularly the center), and Saban’s defense folded in an alarming way. Bama out coached all around… but a lot of familiar Tommy issues, too.

I mean, you keep Michigan to 20 in regulation you should win. Bama D did its job.

That final play call was as bad as the Seinfeld finale. Would have been better to kick a FG even though it guarantees a loss. Almost as bad as his goal line pick 6 in our bowl game last season. Bout time Bama didn’t back into this. Milroe and his legs were there only offense.

I didn't like the last play call, but when I saw a replay it looked like Milroe had a ton of daylight to his left and a lineman out there to block for him. He goes that way he might well get to the end zone. But he panicked and ran right into to the center's ass instead. Milroe is phenomenally athletic but does not seem like the most composed QB out there.

I’ve watched about five different angles of that last play and the one conclusion I can reach is that the snap was awful again and Milroe just tried to wing it. The center was brutal in some key situation tonight. Their line, as a whole, was garbage.

Someone in one of the other threads points out it was set up for a swing pass. RB was wide open with WRs outside to block for him. Yeah, Milroe panicked with the bad snap. The snapping was clearly in his head the whole second half, he was like squatting to catch the ball most of the time.

Bama’s lineman sure did have some huge Barry Bonds heads though. They’re comically big

That bama center was definitely the weak link

Saban probably got involved, let’s be honest

Saban has won 7 titles and built an empire. He’s prone to making mistakes like all humans, but his track record is success.

We all know who the finger will be pointed at when Finebaum opens the phone lines, regardless of if it’s merited of not.

Michigan was the better team.
Tommy called an excellent game especially in the second half.
IE doesn't like it, but the national commentary will differ.
The game commentary by Herbstreit agreed with this.
IE will hate all of this but that's based on old hatreds.

2.5 years or more depending on the class of skunky player always knowing if the other team is gonna run or pass, go strong or weak, be in man or zone has an immeasurable but exponential impact on the wear and tear of every player getting game reps for their team. Their style of cheat is so all encompassing it is impossible to say well now they aren’t cheating…look they are still great… nope every thing they touch is irreparably tainted until every current player is done

His era was a long time ago. I love that he is going to hang around a drag Bama into the dirt. Honestly the amount of talent he has had over the last 4 years and done nothing with, he is barely a top 10 college coach right now.

No offense but Herbstreit calls the game for casuals and his takes usually aren't that good or insightful. A good rule of thumb is if Herbstreit says it, bet the other way.

I can't believe how many people think Tommy is the one that blew that game.

Their offensive line has to be the worst Bama OL I've seen in a decade. UM had 6 sacks and 10 TFL. Bama had 1 sack and 1 TFL. That's right, 1. What the hell do you call when your line is getting blown up almost once/series. And Bama's center f*cked them 3 or 4 times with those low snaps.

I don't think Tommy is the greatest offensive mind in college football but he seemed to do an awful lot with a QB who has some serious limitations. And I don't think that last play call was QB draw up the middle but who knows. If it was, I also thought that was very unimaginative and agree with the person that suggested the Tebow fake draw-shotput pass. That would've been a helluva a call.

Lol.

In years we all agree Bama doesn’t look like typical Bama, they do shit like lose a National Semi-Final game in OT.

Rees callled a decent second half and had the support of a great Bama defensive effort. Bama lived off of Milroe’s legs and his ability to run and improvise. He couldn’t pass for shit but I would not say Rees called a good game. The offense was shitty but Bama special teams and michigans shitty special teams made this close. Center for Bama really F’d up multiple times tonight.
