WTF is this? It sound terrible

It's just a game that was invented back when our grandparents were kids. (This explains the somewhat horrible name). It's just a group of ten or so boys with a football. The one with the football was "It" (in old days, the queer) and the rest of the guys would chase after him and tackle. Once the kid hit the ground he would chuck the ball up in the air and someone would catch it and run. etc. It was just a football tackle version of tag. It's name has lived on despite the changing times. (It's an awesome game though. I was told to only call it "smear" by my dad as I explained above.)

Huh, thanks for the explanation guys, I never played that game but I can see why the name didn't stick.

Also, sucks for all you guys who don't have drive-ins. I new drive-in just opened up on the rooftop of a parking lot in downtown LA. It's pretty nice but the movies have sucked so far.

Ours just closed last year. The best one, the one that you know, showed the more alluring aspects of life, closed years ago. Wasn't old enough to go but could sure watch from #4 green. John Holmes was the man!

John Holmes

There would be about 6 of us, and we'd stuff 2 guys into the trunk. The theater would charge by the number of people in the car. Of course, copious amounts of alcohol was involved. We never went to the kind of movies you're referring to. It would be horror movies and comedies mostly.

My childhood right there. Old Loony Toons are on Cartoon Network quite frequently still.

Luckily for my son his father just happens to be into drag racing and happens to own a 95 Mustang. The last year of the 5.0.

Being able to record songs off of the radio and not have the RIAA come after you.

The way it's going the NHL.

MJ before he was a failed basketball executive.

When girls wore tight jeans not guys.
Guess they took trying to get into your girlfriends pants the wrong way.

The way I understand it. They aren't illegal to own, only manufacture. Though some states I believe have made it illegal to sell them.

I believe that is indeed the case. But it is quite difficult to buy something that hasnt been manufactured in 15-20 years.

All-Star cast on Saturday Night Live.

Running around the neighborhood without worrying about being kidnapped.

Putting a bar of soap in a child's mouth for cursing and not having to worry about going to jail for child abuse.

DJ's with real turn tables, not the computerized ones.

Prohibition

Gas prices below 2 dollars

Done it. Broke both my wrists, cracked skull, and separated both shoulders going up a small hill, more like a ramp.....

Lawn Darts

We used to get drunk and play Lawn Darts. Pretty dangerous considering that we threw the darts about 10' into the air. I don't know how many times we almost killed each other.
